Who would you support?

Or, I guess, put differently, is there another side you kinda like watching , at the moment?

I like the Dees.

Probably because they've sucked so long, and around the same time as we have sucked, so I sort of feel that as clubs we have shared the pain the last decade plus.

Also, I like Gawn, and Petracca, and even Hogan.

I guess I like the underdog, and it is nice to see them doing better now.

Living in Canberra we are all on GWS, they are great to watch and have become the adopted second side of all living in the Nations Capital.

Other teams I enjoy watching are the Doggies and Demons for the same players you mentioned.

But the thought of supporting one of these sides over the Mighty Blues makes me ill

When I first started following Carlton, I also liked North Melbourne. I then had St Kilda as a second team, maybe because so many ex Blues went there in the day. I had Hawthorn as a second team for a while.

Then Brisbane were born so they were my second team.

I've liked Sydney, Geelong and Hawthorn again as second teams.

Gold Coast is probably my second team right now as I live back on the Coast again.

Problem is that being so present on BigFooty means that there are arseh*le supporters across the spectrum and I start disliking teams based on their supporter base, so it ebbs and flows.

If Carlton ceased to exist altogether right now? I wouldn't be following any AFL team.

If Carlton never existed in the first place, probably Hawthorn because my brother supports them. When I was very young, some of my best friends were Collingwood supporters so there was that peer pressure thing too. I still even remember back then, in my first year of primary school, my brother told me to never support Collingwood. Sage advice.

Though if I did have a 2nd team, it would be Hawthorn. I never really minded them, and my brother was the sort who wouldn't rib me after a loss so I guess it's why I don't really mind them. That and we were pretty dominant over them when I was a kid, so I guess he could never rib me anyway.

If Carlton had NEVER existed, I may have ended up as a delusional Tigers supporter like my mama...gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it. If Carlton CEASED to exist, I wouldn't choose another team. I'd still have an interest in footy, and I'd still watch games, but I wouldn't take out a membership for another team. I'd probably just upgrade my rugby membership to Weary Dunlop (have been waiting for an excuse to spend the extra $1200 ) and move on.

Bloody oath I do. Note that my second choices have all been no threat to us at the time, conquerors of hated rivals in grand finals, or just a dominant side when we haven't been challenging.

My father's side are all Carlton supporters, mother's side all hawthorn supporters. I guess I would of been a hawthorn supporter if I wasn't a Carlton supporter. If I had to choose though, I would pick geelong. They kindly gave us the flag in 95, and did us all a favor in the 2011 final by successful quarantine of the filth.
