I'm looking forward to the day John Reid, Steven Trigg and Neil Craig are no longer part of the AFC. Until this day we will not win a premiership. .

Could have sworn all these blokes were there in 97 and 98 when we won flags. Much prefer these bloeks than some of the clowns that have been at other AFL Clubs.

We missed our chance in 2005 and 2006.

Last two years we were never near winning a flag.

What we do from here is the key. I think we need to be tough. I almost think that all three of McLeod Goodwin and Edwards should go. They have all been champions but not sure what one more year will do.

Having said that, there are many different ways to skin a cat and I await the trade and draft period wiht interest.

Moran to play forward and be the next barry hall. The only player Isd like to see the crows chase is varcoe. Use the rest of the trades for youth, and swing the axe at:
Goodwin - looks like 1 year more would be 1 year too many
Mcleod - Foot skills are looking terrible of late. knees of an 80 year old
Gallman
Reilly
Jericho
Mcgregor
Massie

Because finishing 7th overall is going to turn the club around

This "winning culture" is a joke really, win soft games in the Home and Away season but fall in a heap in finals, only win 2 games when we were behind at 3qtr time since 2004. Sounds like a front running culture not a "winning culture".

And for all the talk and all the bs about play consistent finals footy we have seen over the last couple of seasons teams that were behind us, over take us, and even far exceed our efforts, while the Crows have gone nowhere. Honestly even before the Collingwood game there was all this garbage about consistent finals footy and attacking and Goodwin being 100% and the fittest he has been in months and all this crap.

I mean for all the shit Chocko Williams cops for bullshitting, Neil Craig and the Crows seem quite adept at it, I for one am sick of it, and I'm pretty sure alot of other supporters are sick of it too. We're going to do this, we're going to do that, well Neil and the Crows, how about backing it up with action for once in your bloody lives.
Why don’t we get on? Exceptional post.

I think back 12 months ago and hearing John Reid and Craig and it’s the same stuff we are hearing again now. We will get better, we will learn from this, well I don’t think we are. Still the same problems, game plan and lack of faith in the youngsters, and we aren’t going forward because we’re so obsessed with making the finals and trying to remain relevant in the competition. Finals are great, but when you’re consistently getting knocked out early it doesn’t achieve much. All we’re doing is obtaining draft selections that won’t enable us to pick up the players we truly require and failing to move forward at the rate in which we should.

At this rate of player development by the time alot of these younger guys develop guys like Rutten, bock etc will be in their decline and we'll miss another tilt at a flag. We should have been far more drastic this year.

For all the crap about Craig being great at developing players, there are two questions.

Have we performed really well? No.
Have we won a premiership? No.

They will turn 26 next season so your fears are valid.

We must start showing faith in young blokes!!

By the time they get a consistent crack at it most are 21+, then they usually (unless absolutely top shelf) bit players post age 28.

I reckon we drafted well last year...let's do it again!

And we must be ruthless with some older players again because if they are on the list, they will get games when push comes to shove above an untried youngster.

you show me where the AFC has said that the result on Saturday was acceptable? So if we didn't ovber achieve did we under achieve or just achieve?

I didn't say the AFC. After the game on saturday while sitting in my seat i hear the same bloody thing over and over from our supporters after a close loss "Oh well, we weren't expected to go this far. We have done well this year". I HATE WHEN I HEAR THIS. I also heard that phrase after we lost to Hawthorn by 2 points when we lead for 97% of the game. I hate the attitude that some of our supporters have. In terms of the way the season has unfolded, i think we have under achieved. Lets be honest. There are only 2 powerful teams in the competition - Geelong & Hawthorn. After that, anyone can join them in the prelim. People have to take this into consideration. We had a perfect opportunity with a home final and then a crack at St Kilda (whom i don't rate at all). Ok, we would then play Hawthorn and then probably be put in our place. But thats where i would expect us to be at. We're no where near the quality of Geelong or Hawthorn. I accept that. But i wont accept us losing a home final against a "NAB CUP" look-a-like squad that Collingwood had on show on Saturday.
