I think all those people that are thinking of or already have traded Harding into their teams will seriously regret it in 3 or 4 weeks time. There are going to be a load of high priced backs that are going to be fairly cheap in a few weeks time that some of you will be kicking yourselves for doing the trade now. Most of the good backs havnt really played anywhere near what their over inflated prices reflect so therfore i think its far better to wait a few weeks as youll be able to pick up good backmen far cheaper than what they are now

Well, theres a difference IMO.

Harding you would want to be a keeper if you had him. Skip, houlihan, higgins etc are all mid priced or rookie cash cows. Very different scenario IMO.

while that is good in theory - we all know that injuries are a curse - and at least one if not 2 of those well performing mid-price players will be a keeper

palmer was a classic for me last year - traded him in rd 2 expecting to be a cow - and ended up starting in rd 22

Yes, but you didnt pick them as a keeper did you. I mean sure you might of had a faint hope that higgins would cut it, but he has exceeded expectations - but even if he didnt, you could always just downgrade to a jet rookie and use the cash.

If harding doesnt meet your expectations, your in the middle ground IMO.

Not that much difference in cash between Harding and Houlihan, yet I don't see anyone saying not to swap Houlihan in...Something to keep in mind.

Tbh I haven't seen many people trading him in. If it's a trade from Raines and they had the $ then it's good. Otherwise I wouldn't trade Houlihan in either.

What he said

With Harding it really depends what you expect from the trade.

Essentially by trading Harding in you are saying

1) He will be a keeper
2) He will be a high priced cash cow who you will offload using a single trade

There are no other options. No point in saying "Harding is crap" or "Harding is a star", thats for each individual to decide.

No issues if the judgement is option 1 but remembering that potentially 2 of his best scores have already sailed and if he averages 85 for the year the average for your team is 80. Also remember that unless he averages 90+ you are bottle necking a position in the backs which could be used to trade in a top 3 back. To have Adcock, Houlihan, Drummond and Harding at the bottom end does weaken the final backs set up. 1 is fine but 3 could create isssues. Could mean another trade to get the strength you need. This is not saying he is a bad choice, just things to consider when he comes into your lineup.

I think number 2 is the wrong call if that's the play. Going from Raines or Hill, chipping in 100/150K and then dumping the player you bring in for another sideways trade is a waste IMO. 2 trades + 150K used to get a keeper from 190K starting point is poor team management.

It's not a case of whether Harding turns out to be a keeper or not, that's a pure judgement call for each individual coach. It's more a case of planning ahead, thinking about your structure and understanding exactly what you want from the trade before you pull the trigger.
