I have been with my current employer for well over 5 years. I am 99% sure i have landed a new job, should know 100% tomorrow. This will be only my 2nd job. I will be a salaried manager as i am now. When i first entered the workforce it was a entry leveled position(if that makes sense).

My question is before i give notice to my employer is there a contract i need to sign or do you just take the word of the company that they are hiring you. Im not very experienced as you can tell as its only my 2nd ever job.

Thanks

Get at contract to look at before you sign. Always. Sign it with managaemtn and a witness on day 1 of your new job once you have a letter of employment offer sent to you stating your satrt date.

What's the difference. With work choices they wouldn't need a reason to dismiss him anyway in the 1st 6 months.

I will not be on a work choice contract

Put simply, if you quit your job without a formal offer (ie in writing) and that offer is recinded where does that leave you? Even if it is not a detailed offer I would ask for something in writing to confirm that there is a job for you and that the salary you were quoted is what you are being paid.
