My spirit broke today after 30 long years......

Im not even angry anymore.

Its not right to have only been to 4 finals games when your in your mid-30s.

I will continue to contribute as a member each season but they cant ask me turn up anymore after so much. it is up to the younger generation to sit through this. Ive paid my dues watching so many losing seasons.

Im going to join my local golf club and listen to games on the radio and on TV next season.

I will jump on the bandwagon when the time comes - buts its been too long now.

I know we have a lot of kids, I know we dont have a senior core of players to rely on when times get tough - but I dont believe we have senior core of leaders developing amongst the those kids - i dont see anything to suggest their is a genuine leader amongst them.

So by reckoning we are 5-6 years away from making the 8. I should have my hanicap back down to 10 or 12 by then which will be nice.:)

I think your well with in your rights mate to take a break from it all. Today is a new all time low and if I lived in Melbourne I'd be doing the same but only expending one last bit of energy on the club with a trip down to Punt Road with a horse float full on minure and a dozen shovels as I'm sure there would be a few lke minded people there to help me smear it all over the ME Centre.

I'm off to Europe then Thailand for 5 weeks on Friday, after today I probably won't even bother checking the scores each weekend.
Couldn't have timed it better... actually probably would have been better if I left on the Friday just been.

I feel the same, next week I will be in Melbourne and have the chance to see the last game i'll get to see all year and I can't be bothered. I don't know if i've ever felt that way before.

Without being spiteful, the Gold Coast aren't even very good. That makes us?

i dont think i have ever felt as embarrassed to be a Tiger supporter and member:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::(:(:(:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

I dont bother going anymore, failing to select mitch morton behind anyone one of the BUMS that played today is a JOKE. none of them look like a footballers a hole and i mean that , IDGAF if any of them left...i could not be convinced that any of them are anywhere near elite footballers

Sad but reasoned post.

After so many losses (happened to me in 2006), you just dont enjoy it anymore.

Take a break from footy, cos investing so much interest and heart into your team is taxing...espically when things arent going right.

Your better off taking a year off or just follow them from a distance and come back.....rather than resent forever...trust me I know.

Yeah true, you would know about how to handle a lack of success far better than a board full of passionate Richmond fans...

Im not sure if that was sarcasm, but I knows its been alot longer for you guys.

But how shit where we in 2006, you guys have Martin, Post, Vickery too say....in a few years how good are they going to be.

We had no-one we just drafted old mature age players to be competitive and there wanst a player i was looking at saying "Hes going to be there in the next premiership"

Just gotta hope you guys can pick up that Nick Duigan, Micheal Barlow, Jeff Garlett, Mzungu in the draft this year....you cant just be getting 1 good player with your first round pick every year.

I agree with you. Unfortunately, almost all the players we've picked up outside the first round have either been talentless, lazy, undersized, or some combination of all three. People like to think we are "developing" but we simply cannot seem to turn the fair into the good, or the good into the great, and that is why we have not made any progress.

The only reason i'll be arsed for the rest of the year is that i'm running the FTF fund on this board ... if it wasnt for that i would be taking a break
The tally as it stands will be the final result. Send us our invoices Iddy coz we won't win another game.

Yer, well players can just really surprise you though, Robinson I always thought would just be a bash and crash player but he really has turned himself into a classy skillful player.

Just grab 1 or 2 of the best 2nd League footballers, and just work with them....what have you got to lose?

You guys might have a few of those in your list.....but we say that every year...i just want the Tigers to be up and about....AFL is soo much better with you guys playing well and the supporters happy.

Yeah, good one mate. Wtf would a Carlton supporter know about what we've gone through.

Taking a break is not an option unfortunately. F***ing lightweight perspective.

What would I know?

The fact we went from one of the proudest most arrogant clubs, to a club where I was embarrassed to tell people I barrack for.

I went to games hoping we lost by under 10 goals and never looked at the sport section in fear of another financial failure our club was going for.

I didnt even have a number on my jumper because frankly I couldnt think of a player that I enjoyed watching in the slighest, what would you know about that?

We didnt even have hope we gave blokes who were retiring a second chance simply because we couldnt draft.

You have hope, but its a 5 year plan.....not a 1 year plan.

I have no emotion, I turned off the tv with 5 minutes to go and I didn't even care..if we won I don't think I could've cared either

Usually I race onto bigfooty to look up news and have a chat..I completely forgot!

I turned off once i realized we were kicking with the cyclone in the first qtr. Knew leading up to today that we were going to lose after weeks of having confidence in the boys to have wins in the last few weeks.

Don't mind some of the ferals. They are blowing off some steam and it's been a horrible day for all of us.
Some points you make are very valid though.:thumbsu:

Exactly, abit silly on my behalf to come onto a board after a really bad loss.

Not trying to say ours was worse or anything...no-one wants to compare like that.

You beat Essendon and how good did you look there, its when your showing nothing every week.
You probalby shouldve beat us Round 1....so theres talent and effort there.

Look at Melbourne with all their talent...still struggling to get consistency, Collingwood took the better part of a decade to get it.

And Malthouse went through some shitful years with Collingwood before he got it right. It takes time. It took him 10 years to get things right at Collingwood. Bringing him in now would not work.
I'm not making excuses for our past three weeks. Our loss to Carlton was pathetic, our last 40mins against Essendon were a shambles and today was just embarrassing.
Shit happens. At least as an opposition fan you can see shit from clay and have a decent perspective.

Exactly and look at the Bulldogs.

They have been trying for a decade...same with the Saints and still havnt won that Premiership they have been building and building for.

Im telling you now, its not going to be this year but one of the years from here on....something will just click....and you will all be scratching your heads wondering "How the **** did that happen" and you are winning game after game and playing great football.

Iv been involved in AFL clubs, and they plan stuff for many years in advance, and there is a greater picture...just some of you guys just dont see it because you only see what the team is dishing up at this exact point in time (no excuse for today).

Try telling that to some Essendon supporters for us, they are having a field day on the main board today, rubbing our noses in it.

Funny, it used to be Hawthorn now it's Essendon.

I'm in Cairns for another few nights, ATM I am numb. I had my wife & 2 year old daughter along for our annual holidays in Darwin and now Cairns. I had the pleasure today of sitting behind the northern end goals and we just appeared beaten at 3/4 time, like last week. Just trying to grab meaningless possessions on the sinking ship that is the last quarter. I have felt that the efforts in the last 3/4 of today,& last 1/4 & a 1/2 last Saturday night were worse than the awesomeFTF game 3 weeks ago. When we were up the learned ones were referring to our kicking efficiency being one of the best, along with clearances and contested possessions. I ask everyone WTF happened in Darwin & since that changed all that?
