In part yes but I would go further and rest a few that are struggling so we do not add more pressure onto there body.

Next week:

In: McGregor Jericho, Pfeiffer

Out: Burton, Welsh, Hinge (all injured)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my make shift team for the Brisbane game.

FF: Jericho ~ McGregor ~ Vince

HF: Edwards ~ Perrie ~ Stevens

C: Knights ~ Thompson ~ Doughty

HB: McLeod ~ Bock ~ Mattner

FB: Bassett ~ Rutten ~ Torney

Ruck: Hudson ~ Goodwin ~ Van Berlo

Interchange: Griffin ~ Shirley ~ Douglas ~ Pfeiffer

I like it but I got the feeling from Craig's press conference that he wasn't going to rest Burton (and probably not Welsh either).

He is also not going to send Leigh Mathews a free kick by announcing in his Saturday night press conference that that potentially 2 vital goal kickers will be rested. Of course he is going to back them in and announce they are certain starters even if he has no intentions of following through with his words.

Rather like the look of your make-shift team, as IMO Burton is playing with injury and must be rested, while we can only hope that it was injury that resulted in Welsh's wimpish display last night.

I'd like to think so given he is on a one year contract that I assume is performance based. He has played 3 good games this year and 2 terrible games and probably can't afford another poor one. Interesting to note that the 2 terrible games(R1,R6) have been a week after a short injury lay-off.

C98, I think your 3 ins will be the way to go this week assuming no one else drops out or suddenly becomes available. Reilly and Johncock were walking through the crowd before the game and looked to be limping slightly. These are 2 classy players that we desperately need.

Welsh is very lucky that:
a) We are top-heavy in our fwdline with players such as Bock, Perrie, Stevens (when he plays there obviously) and Bodey missing, also Kenny to come back.
b) I am not the coach.
If either of those things were different he would not be in the side. I would never question Perries effort, limited skill sure but for effort its a 10/10. Welsh is the opposite, skilled but slack and needs to lift. I have been saying this for years, he rarely chases or tackles hard and takes the easy option by falling off the contest, his second efforts are simply non-existant. Rucci if you want to question someones character, leave Perrie alone, Welshie is your man. Cmon Welshie prove me wrong!

Agreed,I see McGregor was in the Eagles best 3 in his first game back & have heard there is a chance Porps & Reilly may be back.
