Just a score update from the first days play.

India 'A' vs Australia , Nagpur
Australia won the toss and chose to bat first.

Slater - 5
Hayden - 49
Langer - 8
S. Waugh - 0
Ponting - 56
Martyn - 6
Gilchrist - 5
Gillespie - 33*
Kasprowicz - 39*
Fleming - Still to Bat
Miller - Still to Bat

So after 51.5 overs, Australia is 7/207 with another 38.1 overs to be bowled today.

Updated score: Australia all out for 291.
The highest score was wait for it...Michael Kasprowicz with 92!! What a effort!

"Collingwood forever"

Stumps score:

Australia all out 291 (can't get full details from Cricinfo, but I see above that Kasprowicz and Gillespie mounted a rescue mission)

India A 1/71 Das run out 12, Ramesh not out 43, Laxman not out 6.

Hmmm, Das, Ramesh and Laxman. Aren't they the opening three in the test team?

Oh, here we go. Australia were 7/133. Gillespie and Kasprowicz put on 155 for the 8th wicket. Wow. I'm trying to find some bowling figures for Balaji Rao, as i've heard he's a talented young spinner. Can't find them, though.

The India A tail seems to be wagging as well. Right now Nayan Mongia is on 67, Mohanty's on 21, and India A are 8/353 after being 8/287. Funky's got 5, Kasprowicz is being carted, and Gillespie has the other two wickets to fall to a bowler. Not the dominating start we were banking on for this tour. And it seems the plan to blast them out will definitely be put on the back burner now. Should we have brought McGill over after all?

Roger, tough choice for the selectors. McGill is certainly getting their attention over the past week or two with his form in the local competition.

Another score update:

Lunch - Day 3

India 'A' 368 vs Australia 291 & 105/2 (37.0 ov)

Slater - 11
Hayden - 37
S. Waugh - 11*
Langer - 38*

Good to see Waugh and Langer especially get going with some runs after first innings disappointments.

So this gives Australia a lead of 28 runs
with 8 wickets remaining.

Langer has just made a ton! Thats his spot in the opening test team sealed!

Aussies are now 3/223 after 54 overs with a lead of 146 runs.

Langer* - 105
Ponting* - 38

Not a bad effort. have you seen the match report on Cricinfo? Apparently there was a bit of a blow up between Langer and Balaji Rao, after Langer banged the spinner to the boundary a couple of times in a row. Langer walked down the pitch to speak to him. Unlike our Justin. Especially considering Ponting was out there with him at the time.

It's all ended in a pretty tame draw.

Roger, I didn't hear that, but I'm sure if the media are desperate for a story they will let us know in the next day or so. So that puts the Aussies unbeaten in India
