Just noticed this on the AFL website...

ST KILDA
Jarryd Allen (hip) - indefinite
Xavier Clarke (knee) - indefinite
Sean Dempster (knee) - indefinite

now is it just an admin error or is there some chance of these players coming back at some stage in the year instead of being out for the year as previously indicated..?

Dempster and Allen have been listed as indefinite but it's the first time X hasn't been listed as season. That must be a mistake. He's surely not going to return this season.

I've just checked the Herald-Sun Superfooty site and they've got it listed like this:

ST KILDA
Jarryd Allen (hip) indefinite
Xavier Clarke (knee) season
Sean Dempster (knee) season

I was under the impression that Dempster was a possibility of a mid-late season return.

Got to say it's quite amazing to only have 3 players on this list.

Quite remarkable when you look at it - maybe the first time ever we have no soft tissue injuries?

Amazing to have players like Max, Goose, Armo, Raph, Rob Eddy and Macca have to wait in a queue for a game.

hmmm.. the injury list is good (low) shame Xavier couldn't give it a real crack and not get injured though...

Gram could be rested if there is any doubt.. who would come in though?.. prob Raph or Eddy?

I'm sure some bad news is to come but it's all good news at the moment.

Dempster will play for Sandringham (I assume the reserves) THIS week while Jarryd Allen said he was a chance to play in 6-8 weeks rather than missing the rest of the season

It will obviously take Dempster a while to find his feet but if he can get through the next couple of months unscathed he'd be a big chance to come in for the last 4-6 games. As for Allen, he said his rehab had gone better than expected. He actually said his hip injury was something the doctors usually see in car crash victims rather than in sporting injuries.

Thats incredible news, thanks Sainter. I'd assumed there was no chance we'd see either until next year.

I probably should have added that they both spoke on stage to Bruce Eva in the Victory Room after the game on Sunday.

Interestingly, Ross Tungatulum was another due to speak on stage but Beva told the audience that he was too shy to speak so he got a loud cheer and stood next to X while he did the talking.

cheers mate.. dempster is another plus running around in the vfl for us.. ;)

pity bout x but it looks like we've really turned the corner on the injury front.. *touch wood*...
