Bad and chronic injuries are looking to be a problem again this year.

Noticed in today's paper that of the unavailable players for the first round of the Wizard Cup are:

Chris Scott (still has his groin)
Beau McDonald (out with his shoulder)
Tim Notting (with his knee).

Three very good players that have had 5 months to recover.

???????????

Just makes you wonder.

***Craig Bolton - Best on ground against Essendon at the weekend********

Lot of my mates at the Gabba had no time for him.
hmmmmmm

Give them time to come right. I'd rather they were out for a few more weeks to be sure of good long premiership seasons.

It nearly backfired last year with Brown. They tried to play him injured and unfit and by his own admission, it was a blessing in disguise getting suspended so he could have a rest and get his body right.

Bolton, Cupido, Headland good luck to them all.

Yep, it's only pre-season who cares if they're not right. Providing we rest them up for the premiership season, all is good.

Also, good luck to Luke Hammond at Yarrawonga this year (Hopefully get to play against him), and Mick Martin at Eltham.

Maybe Danni can find out for us????????

Yoooooooo Dannnnniiiiiiiii

im not danni... obviously... but Fly has had Tonsilitis.. & it hasnt quite cleared up yet. obvioulsy with the rain they didnt want him to play coz that would be a bad move, much the same reason that Daniel Merrett didnt play. as for chris scotts injury im not quite sure of the severity of it

On the telecast last night when they listed the injuries there were 2 or 3 players listed with the word Toe.
2 or 3 Players out because of their Toe?

He has supposedly done an ankle, not sure how severe the injury is. I shall check it out this arvo at training, if the boys are running around. Stay tuned Jub. :)

cheers ... Kaz

Don't take this as gospel but the injury is more than likely very minor. I spoke with a friend of mine this morning who is a mad keen Lions supporter but also a physio and apparently the extreme heat in Cairns would exacerbate any swelling - the air bag was put around the ankle as a precaution against this.

Geez, Frosty, how many preseasons have you been through? A preseason without injuries is like a barbeque without flies. They don't spend the off-season in cotton wool, in fact many of them work harder than they do in the on-season, so injuries are inevitable. Add that to the long list of on-season problems which are operated on in October and it's a wonder we have so few injuries. Plus, in the pre-season cup, any slight injury keeps a player out. If we had an important match next week, I'm sure most of those guys would be available for selection.
