Hi all,

I thought it would be a good idea to start an injurt thread... Mods maybe we can sticky it?

We have had a few injuries of late, so maybe we could keep an updated list of all injuries in here:

At present:

Didak-abductor 2 to 3 weeks
Johnson-hammy 2 to 3 weeks
MacAffer-knee -potential season
Krakouer- unknown but maybe best cast scenario rnd 3 or 4 of season
Elliott- hammy 2 to 3 weeks

O'Brien, Reid & Brown should all play next NAB round or the one after, so not counting them..

Re: Injury Thread

Bring them all back in slowly . Want them to be 100% ready for the season. No point bringing in players who's coming back from injury even if it is 2 stitches for the nothing cup.

Re: Injury Thread

Why is Krak's 'best case scenario' round 3 or 4? He was given 4 weeks by the club, which brings him back before round 1? Did I miss something??

Re: Injury Thread

Channel Seven reporting tonight that Collingwood confirmed to them that Tarrant is in a race to be ready for round one.

And where's the injury list on the website?

But there is an AFL article on there, which says Tarrant has a way to go, but he should be all right.

http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/newsfeatures/news/newsarticle/tabid/5586/newsid/129310/default.aspx
Buckley pretty much says it all in that article:
"Our injury profile is probably on a par with what it's been in previous years - [but] the reporting of our injury profile is not on par with what it has been in the last few years," Buckley said at the Pies' Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Wangaratta on Tuesday.

"We're in fairly good shape. We're going to have the majority of our list available for selection in a couple of weeks but that's not the be all and end all either.

"Andrew has been well documented and 'Taz' has still got a way to go [but] four or five weeks away though he should be right to go.

"Nathan Brown will be thereabouts [for round one] and we expect to see Ben Reid in a couple of weeks.

"[Macaffer] has been a disappointment for us and he won't be there. 'Johnno' should be up and running in the next couple of weeks, and 'Dids' will be very close."

Re: Injury Thread

Yeah I ammended my post after seeing that article, Bucks has been pretty forthright and honest about injuries, there's a Ben Reid article going around too, sounds very positive;

http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/def...eed:+com/bGgr+(AFL+Latest+News+and+Broadband)

COLLINGWOOD defender Ben Reid has his eye on the Magpies' next NAB Cup assignment after overcoming the shoulder injury he sustained on holiday last month.

Reid, 22, strained his right shoulder when he tripped over a chair on a beach in Thailand over the New Year period.

He had been accidentally bumped by a stranger and instinctively put his hand out behind him to break his fall.

Re: Injury Thread

Anyone know what happened to tarrants foot

I just read that also and wondered the same thing. The club has been very quiet on this one as far as I can see, and that is never a good thing. If he is 'four or five weeks away' that will make him touch and go for round 1, and obviously given that we're playing Hawthorn and he's the man for Buddy, that is a big concern.
As others have said though it's a long year, and important for all and sundry to be up and going in September, not necessarily in March.

Re: Injury Thread

Article up on CFC website saying Tarrant is ready to go and will feature in most of the NAB Series.

Is touch and go for NAB 2 but is a certainty for NAB 3 onwards.

Good news on the injury front.

Re: Injury Thread

Can we have the updated injury list?

From reading various reports, this is what I have gathered & also from Maxwells's comments:

Didak- 3 weeks away (6 week injury) halfway through rehab, but will be for rnd 1. up to selectors whether he plays in vfl or afl
Johnson- hammy will play in Nab cup 3 onwards
Elliot- hammy (I guess it would be a couple of weeks away)
Krackourer- fit and training now, but I would suggest, if all goes well he would be back rnd 2 to 3
Maccaffer- knee season:(

Tarrant, Obrien, Reid, Maxwell, pendelbury, blair, beams, clarke, wellingham &wood all able to play next week:):thumbsu:

Brown- Nab cup 3 I have heard he will get a run

our biggest concerns are getting Didak & Krak up and running, as we need them in the forwdline. Another than that, we will see the rest get a run through the NAb cup

Also with our Round 1 game on 30th March, still plenty of time for all to get fit! I suggest Didak, Brown & Krak are the ones in serious doubt for rnd 1

Re: Injury Thread

Has anyone got any updates on these two?? I didn't realise they were struggling with some niggles

- Blair has a sore groin and is on a light training program
- Wellingham is on a restricted program as well

Got this info off twitter (@AFL_JenWitham)

Re: Injury Thread

Well with another one going down, lets have a look at the lastest injury update:

note: this info is based on articles, training reports & twitter

Didak- 2 weeks (has began running, which ia a great sign), after having a big preseason, dont think he will be that underdone come round 1

Johnson- 2 weeks see Didak..also will be up and running by round 1

Macaffer- season

Krak- season or Lars option

other than this everyone is available for selection!:thumbsu:

we just hope all our bad luck has ran out now & we can have a good ran at it

Re: Injury Thread

I know all these injury issues look bad, but to be completely "cold light of day" honest?

We'll actually only be missing Krakouer and Macaffer in Round 1. Unless they CHOOSE to rest a couple of others.

But in terms of regular 22-24 players we'll actually only be 2 short. Which is far from the end of the world.
