R: Brendon Lade, Chad Cornes, Peter Burgoyne

So much for Lower being in this week. It would have been a good game for a young player to debut.

You've got to be kidding me right?
We are talking Mark Williams here.

Until Troy Chaplin, Fabian Deluca, Brett Ebert, James Ezard, Michael Pettigrew, Adam Thomson, Brad Symes, Danyle Pearce, Steven Salopek, and Jacob Surjan have been either tried for 50 to 100 games or have been delisted, no one else will get a sniff.
No one from this year or even next year's draft.
Plus we will trade for more players that will jump in ahead of them. ;)

akers back for lions!

BRISBANE LIONS
B: Sherman, Michael, Roe
HB: B.Scott, Leppitsch, Notting
C: Rischitelli, Voss, Selwood
HF: Brennan, Brown, McGrath
F: Moody, Bradshaw, McDonald
FOLL: Charman, Black, Power
I/C (from): Adcock, Merrett, Fixter, Harding, Corrie, Akermanis, M.Clark
IN: Akermanis, Adcock, Merrett, Corrie, Leppitsch
OUT: Copeland (ankle), Macdonald (knee)

Ezard is winning West Adelaide's B&F at the moment. He's a better bet than Lower.

If he gets in, it will decimate West's chances but will provide a bit of mongrel around the packs. He deserves a chance.

Best case scenario now IMO, would be for
Chaplin to come in for Pettigrew (I would have preferred Bishop, but looks like he is set).
Thomson to replace Lonie.

Overall that would make it
Lonie, Dew, Pettigrew, Cassisi, Motlop out.
Thomson, Ebert, Ezard, Chaplin, Symes in.

I'd like to see Ezard given real responsibility if he lines up - preferably starting 18 lining up on one of Brisbane's prime midfielders (say Power). If ever a kid had the hallmark beginnings of the next Josh Carr, this is the one IMO.

Surprisingly early draft pick with little pre-draft hype.
Average first SANFL season.
Not alot to show for preseason gametime in second year on the list.
Bit more consistency at SANFL level in first part of second year, but nothing overly dominant.
Brought into the AFL side during a very tough patch and lots of losses.
Gets some tough tagging assignments first off.
Quietly goes about his work and gets the job done.

A legend is born.

Seriously, hope he really rises to the occasion and makes his opponents earn every kick.

Wishful thinking on my part.

Lonie has not been named for North (neither has Francou who still has the one more week out with injury).

North seem to be the only side with easy access to their named side.

For Sturt you need members' access. Just realised that they have the bye.

For the Magpies, I couldn't find any reference to the selected team on their website.

Good selections this week.

In the words of Chocolate, "We look forward to playing some tough footy this week."

Seems like Ebert, Ezard, Lonie and Chaplin are the bench players.

Ezard getting his debut. Go Jimmy!!

at least they finally axed dew. i'm sorry but he had to go he's been very ordinary.cassisi going out is also a plus IMO.
lets hope we see some some positive signs from the some of the kids.i especially hope chaplin gets a game and plays on brown.

Bit disappointed that Willitts is not getting a run but otherwise pretty happy. Just hope that Chappy isn't left on his own vs J Brown, who kicked a bagfull last week, or it will be the end of his season confidence-wise.

Likewise Id like to see Ezard get a run-with role from the start and hopefully that can free up Kane to play as a free running midfielder and show some of the form we know he is capable of.

In regards to Bishop, I know we all would like to see him dropped, but really which youngster are we going to bring to play his role?? We really are quite thin on the defenders IMO, especially with a view to the future. I think we need to draft a tall, quick defender this year definitely.

How empathetic of you, that you wouldn't want Brown's confidence shattered for the rest of the year after a match-up with the Collossus.

I think you might be getting ahead of yourself hear Lower will play BUT he has only played 1 senoir SANFL game this year (a good one at that )
I would feel Thomas is ahead at this stage hes had 5 out of 6 in the best for Norwood .

This is a great post, it warmed my heart. Carr was also in his second season when he got picked to play his first. He would have been around the same height and weight as Ezard. Congrate's Jimmy good selections this week. :thumbsu: :thumbsu:
