We drew almost 40,000 V the Swans yesterday whilst in 16th.

last time Collingwood played them at home whilst bottom 4 was in R19 2000. Attendance:33,182.

It'll be interesting to compare next weeks Freo crowd to previous Collingwood attendances in Melbourne VS Freo whilst not in the top 8. Collingwood have played Freo three times in Melbourne whilst bottom 8 since they stopped hosting them at Vic. park:

R8 1999 in 16th they drew 26,339.
R4 2004 in 12th they drew 34,416
R18 2005 in 14th they drew 26,582

Their Bottom 8 average is 29,112. We'll be shockingly disappointed to draw fewer than that next week. The situations are not directly comparable but just look at the potental we have to be massive if this team does the business.

How did the Most Exciting Team in the AFL go yesterday against one of the premiersuip favourites at etihad?

Or has the ski season started?

To even suggest a crowd in the 20`s is ludicrous. Saturday night, good conditions at Etihad with roof closed, Tiger Army on a roll, Won 3 in a row and 4 from 5. Up againsed a very exciting top 4 team. The crowd will be 35k minimum. I reckon 45k+

It was interesting to read today the AFL has revised their crowd figure by 10k

Collingwood's biggest bottom 8 attendance V Freo was 34,416 in 2004. Essendon's was 30,383 in 2005. Carlton can't draw as well as an up and running Richmond. Let's see what ours willl be come next week.

Lets hope our supporters show up to Etihad. It's 2 train stations up the road from the G but usually 5-10,000 fans don't love the club enough to travel that extra 5 minutes. I want everyone who'd show up tO the G against Freo to show up to Etihad and stop being soft

See those channel 7 ads? "While two teams take the spotlight... [slow footage of Geelong and St Kilda]... ONE TEAM... IS FLYING UNDER THE RADAR [Collingwood, Collingwood, Collingwood.] IGNORE THEM AT YOUR PERIL"

If this is Collingwood flying under the radar, I hate to imagine how they'd be normally. Every single Friday night game? Newspapers banned from mentioning other teams?

+ Harry O'Brien on every single flipping interview or something, showing off his dance moves or something of the like.

so you want a lock out with 10 000 storming the gates. hmm - better get there real early then.

Proximity to the G means nothing in terms of why people don't go to Etihad. It has more to do with the lously deal the gen public get there. having said that i will be there but it is not the diehards who will not go it is the swinging voters and that is their right.

I'll be there. It's actually more convenient for me to go there as the train goes straight there. But I hate the stadium with a passion.
Our home games should be played at our home ground. Simple as that.

Will be working this game so say hi if you see me at the gate :D I'll be the fidgety young lady anxious to turn around and watch. Finish at halftime so it's all good. Pack the joint out guys!!!!! (but save me a seat plz)

Sorry but if you don't go to our Etihad games, YOU ARE NOT A DIEHARD. End of story. I wouldn't even have to think twice whether the game was at the E or the G. You can't make any excuses

But you won't go interstate so you're not a diehard either.
Different strokes for different folks madness.

i will be there. Have not told the boss yet as we need to be at the airport at 4am for an international flight Sunday morning but she will get over it. I cant miss this one.

Fully intend to be there, although looking at my schedule, I might be a bit late. My attendance usually depends on several things, but which ground we're at isn't one of them. I strongly prefer the G, but I'd watch Richmond play at Cragieburn if that's where the game was.

Much prefer playing the likes of Freo there than St Kilda though...Playing home games at the other clubs home ground is just wrong.

If it's in Melbourne and you live in Melbourne you go
If you are not interested in going because it's at Etihad but you'd go if it was at the G then you are not that passionate about the club. There's no other possible answer. For alot of people Etihad is even closer than the G. If you have to travel a whopping 5km extra to Etihad than the G but you refuse to go then you are one hell of a TIGHT ASS if you call yourself a passionate supporter. You'll either have admit you are not fully passionate or a tight ass. One or the other ;)

Where did i say i was not going ????

Yesterday was the 2nd biggest crowd that's attended a Sydney game this season. The highest was 43,585 last week at ANZ vs Collingwood.

You're missing the point. People don't like the venue. It is a soul-less morbid boutique stadium that isn't even boutique. It's not the location, it's the venue. And it's not our home ground.

I’m not looking to bag anyone for going/not going to games, this is purely a question to be better informed.

What is it about the stadium that makes our supporters hate Etihad? Is it just what tugga says, that there's no soul there & it's not our REAL home ground, or are there other things about the joint?

The MCG will always be my favourite venue, but I still like going to the footy at Docklands.

I love both. It's easier for me to get to the G, and obv it's our home but that doesn't stop me from going to Etihad. Wondering if it has anything to do with the fact level 1 is barely ever gen admiss? Very strict on it even when it's half empty.

The lack of standing room is another bugbear of mine.
