From Inside Footy, Jolly has kicked 47 goals over the past 3 years. More then any ruckman in the comp.

He doesn't get a heap of credit for going forward and kicking goals.

16 goals a year would be very handy, on top of dominating the taps.

Im so pump to wtach Jolly run out in the Black & White

We now have a top 3 Ruckman at our club to help our Midfield

Cant wait to see him smash the Saints tomorrow night

great stat to read. Bring on 2010 the year of the Pie (not the tiger)

Sydney averaged the most hitouts per game last year...Collingwood averaged the least. So what to we do, get the best in the business :)

That's how we roll, carn the pies!

He's a handy footballer and a huge improvement on what we've had for a decade but he doesn't DOMINATE anything really. If he wins in the ruck more often than he loses we are in front. Translate that to previous years and it's top 4 instead of 6th, a GF instead of losing a prelim, maybe a premiership or two out of 2002, 2003 & 2007.

If he happens to dominate the ruck I will be surprised but delighted. I will settle for competitive on a bad day, winning on a good day and not too many bad days. That is a reasonable expectation and enough to make a real difference.

More stoppages = more hitouts....

I'm just sayin'....

Not surprised. Jolly is a star.
Anyone who thinks he isnt simply doesnt know football, or they just like to stir Pies fans on Bigfooty.

Way to go, voice of reason. Fun sponge. :p

That goes without saying mate, congratulations on pointing out the obvious :thumbsu: Proud?

The POINT though which you seem to be missing (you're a bit like your club in that regard) is that regardless of how many stoppages he is involved in, he consistently gets more hitouts than the opposition - that is called a victory. I'd take a 20 hitout to 10 victory over 50 to 40 because although you win by the same amount, your winning percentage is higher (this is also obvious, but I've noticed that you struggle with these things). Jolly will obviously get less hitouts at the Pies than he did at Sydney but so will his opposition. The only thing that will remain the same is that he will win the hitouts 9 out of every 10 weeks. This man is an out and out star and if that's because he learned the trade playing for a club that has a million stoppages a week - I really couldn't care less.

I'd bank on a ruck combo of Jolly and one of Davis/Lockyer/Blair/Mini Me absolutely belting whichever combo your team could come up with.

Still going to be a big improvement on the ruck situation that we'd had over the last few years. He's got the ability to be effective when resting in the goal square, so another improvement there.

Absolutely spot on. I can't believe there are knockers out there. Especially from Carltank Jolly is a champion ruckman. Just bitter about Robbie Warnock I suppose. Good luck with that pickup.
