No opposition player has kicked more than three goals in a game vs St Kilda this year.

Might change this week with Geelong having so many potent forwards but its probably a mark of the way the Saints defenders help each other out over the first 13 games of 2009.

have a very versatile defence this year. If a matchup isn't working we have plenty more options.

tbh I can't see any cats kicking more than 3 or 4, no real big bags. If they beat us it'll be a fairly even spread imo. If someone did I reckon it'd be one of the smaller players, Stokes or Byrnes.

Despite the great start to the season I still think that we will struggle to contain Geelong until we find a small backman who can play on the likes of Chapman, Byrnes, Stokes etc.

We all love Bakes, but he has clearly lost leg speed, and he wont ever get that back.

It wont happen overnight, but I think there is merit in trying to get Schneids to be the defensive small that we are missing.

Hawthorn have done this with Guerra, and the Bulldogs are trying to do the same with Harbrow.

Schneider has the pace, the foot skills and the football ability to take this role.

Sorry I can't agree. Even as a small back he is a bit too short.
He is not as quick as you might think.
He takes and excellent mark and is a good kicker. Thats why he and Milne will be part of the forward line until Ross T is ready.

Miles is a far better candidate than Schneiderman.
on the money but he needs to be lifted off the rookie list and im not sure we have any spots with dempster back playing.

Chapman is the bloke to worry about, he always stitches us up.

Very good post brother. This is the area I am worried about. For mine Dempster would be the best candidate for this role.

What ever happened to this bloke?

Leigh Fisher #6 Age: 25yr 1mth Games: 55 Born: April 19,1984 Height: 184cm Weight: 90kg Defender

Had a few cracker games back in the day. He killed all the pre season fitness.

His form in the VFL is not that bad. Could he play on one of the Geelong small forwards?

Long shot?

Still has a bit of a hamstring issue I believe my brother.

I'd say Johnson's the one to worry about

Johnson's definitely the main threat in their forward line, along with guys like Chapman and Byrnes. I wouldn't be as worried about Mooney and Hawkins given their recent form.

Not sure who we play on Johnson, Fisher or Gilbert would probably be the best bets as they have the speed and mobility to go with him. Leaving Hudghton (if fit), Dawson & Blake to take care of Big Bad Cam and the Tomahawk.

I would love to see him again, he is regularly amongst the best for Sandringham, but I doubt that he is on Lyon's mind (has not mentioned him when talking about the reserves).

I doubt that he's still 90kg - he lost a lot of weight over summer and appears fitter than anyone.

He is currently listed as "hamstring, one week".

Speaking of, can anyone tell me who was on Jack Reiwoldt in the first quarter? Was listening on the radio and they didn't make it clear, but whoever it was was getting towelled and he apparently could have had 3 in that quarter. Obviously this was corrected, but I'm just interested to know.

dawson played on him the whole game, got toweled in the first quarter and then toweled him the next 3 quarters

Hmmmm. One of Jack's mark was taken with Zac in front but misjudging the flight of the ball. Another Blake was on him when he marked in front. I was most impressed with the fact that even though the Cougar misjudged the ball flight early, he didn't go back into his shell and just spoil, he kept backing himself to mark the ball.

Yep :thumbsu:
