Read on Demonland, apparently Scott Welsh from Adelaide can't negotiate a 2 year contract with the Crows. Was reported on Channel 9 in Adelaide that we've offered him that 2 year deal that he requires. Bit of a surprise considering Bailey's <24 policy? Welsh is 28. Big "Eek" on my behalf, would be far too risky IMO. Has anyone else heard the news that can ellaborate on what i've just said?

Crows board has rumours but nothing more. The guy can play, but doesn't always get on the park, if he and Robbo took turns to kick 4 each week it would worry some teams. As you've said it doesn't fit the age thing, but a two year deal for a 28 year old without giving up draft picks isn't too bad.

Imagine that. He and sampi can combine for two good game a year. Why don't we try poaching Jeffrey back from Freo so we can have the most inconsistant forward line in the league?

No doubt Welsh has talent, but, much like TJ, hardly uses it.

I rate Scott Welsh a decent player but i don't think he is what we need,we have a few of his type like Robertson,Sylvia,Bate & Green who play a similar role!

Absoloutely he has been the leading goalkicker for the Crows like 4-5 times! You guys gotta remember that the Crows forward line has been utter sh!thouse for 10 years the guys had no help there. I think it will continue a great tradition of us stealing Adelaide's decent medium sized forwards ALA Peter Vardy

Also it is a PSD pick, they are virtually worthless especially a late PSD pick if we decide to use our no:3 on Sampi. There will be a lot of competition for places up forward it will be great for the side.

I'd rather Welsh than Sampi too. He's big and, worst-case scenario, would at least require a decent defender on him. Then, if they decided to play shit on him, he could bob up for a couple of goals.

It's probably see the end of Miller as a forward. Welsh, Neitz, Newton, Robertson, Miller, Bate all in the same forward line? Far too tall!

I agree. I think the whole inconsistency thing with Welsh had more to do with their forward structure than anything else. A far better option than Sampi, lets not mention them in the same breathe again please.

I wouldn't say Welsh is a tall forward. Medium sized at best i don't see him as any taller or any better mark then Bate. And behind Robbo.
But he's a dead eye dick when it comes to shooting for goal.

all the guys in here that are anti-welsh are kidding themselves.. as one guy said when he plays they barely lose.. he always kicks bags of goals against us and single-handedly wins games..
He is exactly what we need.. green, bruce, mclean, sylvia, jones.. they can lace welsh all day long! another upside is he never misses. Less pressure on big neita and a good 3 yr propostion while we can work on drafting a young full-forward.. wont affect newton at all as i reckon he should be chf.

Get Welsh NOW.. i guarantee it will be the differecne b/w us finishing 9th/10th and 6th/8th..

We already have a medium sized forward with Robbo. Apart from Davey we are light on for crumbing forwards. Sampi, if he does enough, should get the nod.
