Interstate Membership Pack

I just got my interstate membership pack, and its great but I've only got one issue with it...

wheres my hat? i thought all members get a Hat? whats the deal?

I was really looking forward to getting an exclusive '09 member hat.

now how are people going to know that i'm a member other than seeing my scarf, key & keyring, bumper sticker, bedsocks and membership card?

am i the only one who notices this?

I'm still waiting. I called up the club yesterday, and they said it'd come in the next week or so. I'll see if I get a hat. Mind you, last year I didn't, and I didn't think it was that big a deal. The scarf is a great indicator.

Wife's comments were CLASSIC:

"Oh, why do they always do a scarf? They should alternate and do a hat one year, then a scarf the next, then you got both..." (gotta say, I think she's got a point...)

"Still, I like the scarf being white... it's kinda... girly..."

"Where's the PIN!?!"

"They're being very environmentally friendly with the bags - no, wait! Overpackage the lanyard much?!?!"

"Oh, they gave us a towel, that's nice... Um, um, are the letters meant to be so... skanky...?"

"I LOVE the socks! Everybody needs socks... unless their gran knits them of course..."

I am most excited about the lanyard. I love it when people look at me funny in adelaide as if to say "what are you supporting them for?"

I called up the other day as I hadn't received mine either, the membership chick said if I haven't got it in a fortnight to call back.

My dad got his like 2 weeks ago!!! I paid for mine before his! I wish they would provide the packages based on when you pay for them not some hodgy podgy unpredictable method

It's been a bit all over the place for a while, it is improving though. I think Saints membership have trialled new software over the years with varying levels of success.

I ordered my Family membership in December and got my pack in January ( we now have around 9 StKilda scarves in the house and only one hat that I already had ).
The rest of the family are still waiting for theirs. When I rang they told me I had forgotton to put the details of the family in when I ordered it and had to give it to them again when I rang up. I then went home and found the emailed receipt - complete with details of family members.

At least they arranged a pass for my wife so she wouldn't have to pay $10 for the practise match.

Were there ever hats on offer? I've been an interstate member since 2003, and can't say I've ever received a hat ...

I AM the proud owner of about 6 scarves mind you. One with Harves signature on it at least. I love having Blues coaches signatures

And yes, the wife likes this year's scarf. Must admit, I don't find it too bad but I still prefer my non-member, heritage scarf with the quite old logo on it (I think it's Persevering Saint who has the same logo as their avatar)

I'm actually thinking of getting the wife to just sew the last year's scarf into a hat - no scissors, mind you, just some careful arrangement and sewing into place. Then I've got the member's hat, and the member's scarf.

DUDE! It's SOOOOOO easy!!!! WAY easier than I realised. I was expecting to have to wrap it around my head, turban style. But NO! The wife (absolute dead-set genius!), realised that the scarf is actually "hollow", kinda like a sock. So what we did was take out the tassles at the end, then "quick-un-pick" the end. Then you just kinda fold the rest of the scarf inside the hole (if that kinda makes sense...), and then just tidy up the end you "quick-un-picked".

It looks heaps good, with either the "Member 20##" or the Saints logo on the front (your choice - I went with the logo myself).

When we do the wife's one, I'll make sure we get photos of each step for people.

Usually when I'm at AAMI, I sit behind the goals... not that that's the BEST place to watch it, but it's usually the safest, because that's where all the Saints fans congregate (safety in numbers...). But given there's going to be like 10 people there probably, I'd sit on the wing - great view.

Oh, and you'll be able to spot me... I'm the one with the cool scarf-made-into-a-hat thing...

thanks for the tip, we went to the port adelaide game last year and sat in the aisle next to the cheer squad...
it was good there and enjoyed the night/including aftermatch function
so we will probs we sitting there again...
ill try and look out for your hat
you will diffenatly be able to spot me if we sit near the goals
ive got a large black banner that states 'GO SAINTS' on it
(usually on sticks but unable to take them on the plane so ill just hold it up)

Hey PS - which goals do we get for the cheer squad - it's the northern end isn't it.

I reckon it will be packed for this people - that new crow entertainment thing is being pushed for this round.
