i enjoyed it.

the ending was a bit dumb tho. i could follow the logic behind it and the science, even with a latitude for a certain amount of hollywoodism, also probably stacks up but that kinda "look how goddamn convenient everything is" deus ex machina trope that the black hole/quantum entanglement represented is really overplayed and this one seemed particularly dumb. even though i didn't want to (coz i really dug the rest of the film) i couldn't help but pshaw. good music tho.

i was not impressed by Interstellar, thought it meandered and could have been cut down a bit. I think i would need to give it another shot before I made a fair appraisal, and prolly lash out 25 or 30 bucks or how much it is at IMAX.

every director now thinks they are malick. especially VCA grads with a 30k budget for an ad for either Barossa or WA or NT Tourism. Go and look at the NT tourism ad on youtube, and the NT Tourism ad, and they are sooooo Malick derivative. There are about 6- 10ish tourism ads on youtube for each state, but the Malick ones are obvious. Usually, if you still pay to watch at a cinema, and it can be tough handing over 15$ *not the cash), but paying, in Tarantino's words, to watch TV in a cinema, then if you arrive early or on time, for the ads, you see all these ads. wait, i will do the dirty work and find them for you...

Malick Tourism NT, cant find it atm, cant be bothered looking at another dozen NT commercials, but there is one from Barossa that rips off the Malick feel/tone, but have two references below where the director has ripped off Dominik and Malick

may have conflated the Northern Territory one with WA, cos 15 minutes watching NT tourism clips, could not find the one I think must have been the WA one above.

But got the barossa one. And a few from Connoisseur Icecream. Barossa is too slick by half, and Cave the banal fool, but evo likes Cave, and he is quite partial to Guy Pearce' new music foray. props to you and Guy Pearce evo.

I have seen this actors voice with his person on the stage, and yes, his voice is a little like Mark Snarski, can almost turn a hetero guy gay, even when he is talking icecream

I didn't like it and preferred Gravity. I thought the overall story was a bit wanky and almost religious and I have never been a fan of Matthew McConaughy. I felt like I had a 22 year experience in the cinema and the highlight was getting to go to the rest rooms afterwards. My fave movie of the year was Gone Girl.

Gone Girl was a cutting view of modern america/see:australia. interpreting oneself thru ones Facebook "image" of oneself, that has very tenuous handle on reality.
 
FreoGirl as a narrative film, I would not have bought into Gone Girl, it would have utterly bored me, but to see Fincher deconstructing modern society and image, and image the primary driving force of behaviour and values, that held and gripped me. I think most watch it on a WHOdunnit or Thriller level, actually, all do, it cant be multiplex and hold that audience otherwise.

I loved it. I thought it was a very beautiful, transcendental movie.

I don't want to sound like one of the cool kids, but I've done quite a lot of psychedelic drugs in my life. LSD, mushrooms and mescaline. (Still waiting for the right moment to do DMT.)

Now unless I'm barking up the wrong tree, it's pretty obvious that these Nolans have done the same. I have had deeply profound and spiritual experiences under the influence. The closest I have felt to having these feelings articulated in the cinema are in this movie.

There were a few Hollywood moments but on the whole it's searching for a deeper truth than you'll find elsewhere, science fiction of the highest quality.

The only poor performance was from Michael Caine, he was more robotic than TARS and seemed to be phoning his performance in from the 5th dimension.

My first IMAX experience and well worth it

Yep saw it. Blown away tbh. It's something that we will face in the future at some point so it had an extra edge for me. The concept of time distortion was awesome. The only thing that gets me is that 5D representation of time. I just don't get its meaning and where it came from. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Absolutely loved this movie. Best one I have seen in a while. I honestly believe that the soundtrack had a lot to do with the ability for the movie to portray space/time travel.

Saw Prometheus at the IMAX...wow seriously good.
You will love the DMT.

Watched this on the plane to Perth last week. Am I the only one that thought the actual spaceship scenes (Looking at the ship travelling for example) looked extremely fake and poorly done? It may have just been the small screens though.
