"When somebody hasn't got the information that they need or hasn't turned up on time it's usually due to the fact they're away from us and the group a little bit, mentally. That always raises concerns."

I think this supports the theory that he was unaware of the compulsory meeting, I'm pretty sure that he was uncontactable (fishing). I think that sometimes their lives become to consumed by the game and that having a bit of away time can be beneficial. (I don't know the full story over time) But precious is still a word that comes to mind if this is the straw that broke the camels back.

He has had a rough trot lately and I would not rule out that he will walk away from the game. His team mates obviously have had enough and maybe he has as well.

I wouldn't think it matters if he knew about it or not. The day before a game, the rest of the team didn't know where he was.

They just had two months off, if he needs time out, why do it the day before a match?

I like Roy, but you have to maintain standards of professionalism and dedication. They leave for a massive tour of India later this month, and you can't go there half hearted.

I do agree that he probably needed to let someone know what he was doing, and also that he gets paid very well for something people do for fun & with that comes extra responsibility. Also there are plenty of talented players willing to do anything just to get a game. But are we becoming over regulated?

Anyway the team has spoken and "time will tell" if he is willing to tow the party line.

I hope Moises gets a run, it would be great to see a good young player have a taste of international cricket.

Bryce McGain 3 wickets on the first day of the first "Test" match between Aus A and India A in Bangalore. India A 4/180 (60overs) at stumps.

Aus A team: SM Katich, AC Voges, GJ Bailey, DE Bollinger, B Casson, L Ronchi, AA Noffke, PM Siddle, BE McGain, MJ North, PJ Hughes

Will be very dirty is Moises gets a run ahead of D Hussey or C White.

Would be another slap in the face for the Vics.

As they say when you get a baggy blue, there is also a baggy green inside.

One would hope not in front of these players, but it is Bangladesh and someone like James Hopes could have one game off.

Good day for Bryce, hope he gets a chance at test level at some stage this season.

Did you read the article by Doug Walters on A.Symonds? All I keep thinking is something about a pot and kettle and the word black in there.

I did see Dougie's comments.

I think he was talking more about being part of a team and not be off doing your own thing.

He also made some comments about the money Symonds makes. Dougie probably played for half a dozen stubbies and a pack of Winfield a day in his career before World Series cricket.

Yes, when he started the players would have been getting next to nothing (and working a job), and he was part of the revolution of WSC. The players today owe a lot to I. Chappell, Doug and the like.

I was probably getting at the larrikin in him (being similar to Symonds) not his obvious liking for being part of a team. (Even if it was to have a drink, smoke & play cards!)

India A: All Out 284. Bollinger 4/59, McGain 3/51.

Aus A: 8/113. North 41. Bailey 37no.

Spinners ran through them by the look of it. 4 LBWs also.

3 day match, so last day is today.

Anyone watching/listening to the match at the moment? Sharma and Ponting are having a ripper of a duel.
