All depends on how your season goes. Dale Thomas seems to be a confidence player that only plays well when the team is winning. Every team has these players and he is one of them. He will probably have less pressure on him next year too as the media hype of his first couple of years will be not as great.

It's rather rare that players flick a switch and turn it around as much as Daisy needs to too be the player many of us expect or want him to be. I think he needs to build his aerobic capacity.

Be given much more time in the middle, he looks a better player in the middle and he needs to get a better understanding of how to play there.

I would be happy with another semi stagnant year from Daisy as long as he plays much more as a midfielder.

As for Pendles I reckon his cherry ripe, I don't think there is much at all too go. Another preseason, a bit more muscle and hopefully with it the confidence to go with more intensity. I have seen enough from Pendles to be very very confident we have a consistant star mid that you can build your midfield around for years to come. I haven't seen enough from Daisy to be confident yet but I hope.

Why is it a Make or Break year?

Well he has been very hyped up as No.2 draft pick and has gotten away with being inconsistent so far cos he is just a kid. The jury is still out on him as to whether he is going to be elite or just good. Could go either way. I actually think he was much less hard at the ball last year than the year before which is a worry. Next year needs to put 4 quarters together on a consistent basis to justify the high draft pick and the hype.

There were times this year where I thought he was being careless because he threw himself in so hard, much like Goldsack, because of his frame. The first North match is the first one that comes to mind, I remember him just blanketing the ball without regard for his safety, was good to see, but a bit worrying for the little guy.

The Kid's played what; 50 odd games?

We shouldn't even be talking about the kids untill they get at least 90 to 100 games under their belt.

4 to 5 pre-seasons, 100 games of experience.

That's when we need to start judging these kids.

Thomas, Pendlebury, Dick, Macarthy, Cook, Stanley etc.

Thomas does look a fair bit like ablett did in his 3rd season. They both have the ability to evade opponents and have the X-factor. Thomas could be anything.
I hate it how people are always calling them 'kids', theyre 20-21 years old, not even teenagers anymore let alone kids. They will be judged from the get-go and 3 seasons is enough. Three seasons is enough to expect someone (especially a 2nd pick) to start stepping up and taking a game by the scruff of the neck, as someone like gibbs is starting to do now.
What do you guys think of Danny Stanley? Went to school with him and played junior footy with him at Ocean Grove, is he likely to get a permanent position next year? His kicking was always his problem, he could kick 50m as a 15 year old, but was very very inconsistent with it. He dominated junior footy due to his size, but he's been brought back to the field at afl level.

most players wont make it anywhere near 100 games, 3-4 years on the list is long enough to show something. cook and stanley need stellar years if they want to be retained next year.

pendles and thomas have shown enough that we know they will be around a while, its now a matter of how good can they be.

When you're 37 you'll be referring to them as kids also!
