Just wondering whether we might see both Rough and Birch hang up the boots at end of year. Could even see a scenario where Buddy ends up outlasting the entire rest of the side, which would be pretty unexpected (at least from my POV) - wouldn't have picked a massive unit who relies on athleticism to be the sole survivor!

Anyone got a view - I'd be really disappointed if we don't see some more of Birchall, one of my favourite players. But at 30 and having missed best part of 2 years with injuries, seems there's some chance he mightn't go on?

On the title. Yes 2008 is done. It's 2018 10 years later.
But uh yeah looks like the class of 08 is done.

It should be done.

It won't be whilst Clarkson clings to topping up and finishing mid table

Recruiting O’Meara Mitchell and Impey is topping up?

I’ll concede you Vickery

Have not all the others been draftees?

Shakey just wants a team of 18 year olds running around

It seems inconceivable that Bud is going to outlast everybody, and still be a match winner/near peak performer to boot.

I was convinced he'd be the first of the lot to break down. Unless he goes off a cliff sometime over the next year or so, he could well hang around for 4 more years.

You hope Rough and Birch have one more good go left. Roughy is looking much better than he has since the chemo. If there is further improvement no reason why he couldn't play on. If not, he's still our most reliable tall forward.

Birchall is the weird one. When he first got injured, it seemed no big deal. But it's been two good years now that he's been more out than in. I hope he gets another go, it would seem a lot more just than him just disappearing into the night.

Rough obviously coming to the end, but I don't see anyone else who could play his role. Crossing my fingers that Birch can get himself right as he instantly makes the Hawks a better side. Can't remember him playing a bad game.
