I have been hearing few rumours that he is up for trade if the right deal came along. The price being asked is very cheap with a second round pick looking the best possible, but more likely a third round or a fringe player from another club. Do you rate him?

he finally came along and played some pretty good footy this year but would be considered expendable for the right deal

doubt we'd go for a 3rd round pick but i guess a swap for another player would not be out of the question

i should make mention that he is my cousin so i do take some interest in his career. in my opinion not many clubs would give up a second rounder to get him but he is the kind of player that would be worth that to the club he is at. I notice that he does let his opponent get a lot of the ball but when he gets half a chance to lay a tackle or put some pressure on an opponent he turns into a man on a mission and won't give up until hes got them. my favourite tackles i've seen him lay are in the first final versus w.c were he hit a bloke pretty hard in the middle of the ground and the resultant turn over resulted in the first goal of the match and his tackle on robert harvey in the second final where he ran him done from behind and laid the perfect tackle, taking harvey's arms and then dragging him to the ground.

agreed that we wouldn't get a 2nd rounder for him and it hardly seems worth getting a 3rd roundner for him given that is the pick we re-drafted him with last year

i'd prefer to keep him as he is fave and has little trade value, but if we were to do it it the best bet would be for another fringe player

No chance he'll be traded, unless it's as a balance for a bigger trade.

Monty earned his stripes this year, and his trade value on his own isn't close to his value to Sydney. There's simply no reason why we'd waste four years of work for an untried youngster from the middle rounds of the draft.

It was just a rumour I heard and seeing as i am related to him i thought it would be nice to have him at collingwood. Would Mark McGough be a fair trade in your eyes? What about O'Bree or Shaw? (Not suggesting it will or should happen, just want to know where you rate him)

I like this thought process as I believe lots of players are in the same category at other clubs as well. This leads to club supporters thinking their players are worth more than what outsiders believe they are worth. Someone like Presti at Collingwood is a good example as we might be lucky to get a first round pick for him if he left but his value to the team is undeniably high and that is the reason we expect/want more for him.

Yep very much required player

My favourite player as well good ol bucky. Champion bloke as well i must add, you should be wrapped he's your cousin (unless you're a Suzi alias ;))

I don't think he's a required player, but trading for a third round pick would be a waste for us. I could see a trade for another player that we need or as part of a larger trade.
