It is hard to say this, but despite being a matchwinner, if Hussey doesn't perform against the Proteas (another single digit score), will he be considered to be dropped. I mean, it is Hussey, it can't happen, however, it is his first world cup.

I know it's not that simple but Watson hardly has "more runs in the bank" than Hodge.

Purely in batting terms Hodge has as good a record in ODI as Hayden and far better than Watson.

Watson is an allrounder though but he is best used at the top of the order.

So Hayden should go.

With all of the talk about the pitches being prepared for slower bowlers, I think Watson has to go for Symonds.

Hodge is playing too well to get dropped, and Watson isn't good enough bowling wise to bowl on slow decks with tiny boundaries.

And in his first 5-6 innings he made **** all runs, which makes it a more imposing record. Hodge has been impressive since his return, but he'll have to make way - he was dropped after not doing much wrong in Tests so I think the same will happen to him here. Hayden and Watson are the selectors' lovechildren.

Watson out. But I reckon they just mgiht kick Hodge out... the selectors LOVE Watson. Hodge's bowling is not too shabby as well. Probably around the same as Symonds in terms of Bowling ability.
