Is it 'cheating' on your supported club if you adopt a team for Grand Final day? I am one eyed Hawthorn and will be til the day i die but i found myself supporting the Swans last year because they were the underdogs and i was surrounded by arrogant Eagles fans. This year as much as i hate to say so i am following an Eagles win (provided they make it) as i have a few dollars on them.. Am i being disloyal to my team??

Hell no.

I'll be giving Freo, not as much, but nearly the same amount of support as I would for the Swannies should they knock us out. Plus it's only for a day and you get more into the spirit of the day by following a team.

Yeah that is exactly right, i think that is the reason that you do adopt someone for the day so as you have a team to cheer for! It just isn't that much fun watching the GF without a team to get behind.

I always have someone I like better than the other team. For example I always went for Brisbane, because I hate Essendon and Port and liked Brisbane more than Collingwood. I don't think it's cheating, but there might be one of your favourite players (for mine, Voss) playing and so it is natural.

I pick a side that I want to win in every game that doesn't involve Collingwood. It's not cheating, it just makes the game more interesting.

Although I find that I will quickly turn on that club if they're winning by a lot. I will pretty much cheer for a draw most of the time, really.

I just love the atmosphere that goes with GF day, the GF breakfasts, the beers, food, big screen with mates etc.... i look forward to the day regardless of who is playing on that last Saturday in September!!!

Last Saturday night I saw the Eagles fans, already in celebration mode from both a huge win and the prospect of a shot at a grand final berth, take a couple of minutes out of their celebration and stand and applaud Rohan Smith

Given the history the Dogs and Eagles have, you would've forgiven them for not giving a stuff

Any prior beliefs I had about West Coast and their fans went right out the window that night. I'm backing them in, both in dollar terms and emotional terms, to get up on Grand Final day
