Computers & Internet Is it possible to connect my PS3 to a computer monitor, and if so how?

I have been thinking about throwing out my old TV and upgrading. I basically only use this TV for my PS3 and rarely do I switch to normal TV. I was wondering if I could connect a PS3 to a computer so I'd have no need for a TV in that room. I know it involves HDMI but anything else? I've watched YouTube and its all using wireless stuff which is way to complicated for me. Could this work if I bought a laptop or would it just work for a normal computer.

Could you buy a small new tv with both pc in and hdmi, use that as your monitor for the pc and your ps3 screen?

yep, a lot of newer computers have hdmi out as well so just check what yours has, if it has hdmi you can get away with 2 x hdmi ports on the screen, otherwise most come with a pc in port.

Kriegs is right, it's probably the best way to go. You can still plug your PS3 into a standard computer monitor providing it has HDMI, but the problem then lies with the sound. Most monitors don't have sound so you need some sort of audio receiver on top.

Using a TV as a monitor is much better as far as convenience goes.

But remember to make sure the TV is PC compatible and full HD or you run into the issue i had on my old TV.

if you have a LCD screen (which everyone does) you can because I did for a year or so. If your screen doesn't have a HDMI slot you need these things.
