Is it possible?

1) We get Treloar pissing off those cocky Tigers supporters getting ahead of themselves. Looking likely

2) We then only give our first pick and an excess player for Treloar annoying all those plastic franchise supporters at GWS who said we would have to pay a heap to get him. So many GWS supporters (all 3 of them) were saying they would not accept less than 2 first round picks.

3) We get Aish for a 2nd round pick and a surplus player. The Brisbane supporters may just explode, if any left.

4) We get Kreuzer as a free agent but not paying enough to give Carlton band 1 compo. Not sure i really want Kreuz but this would annoy Carlton supporters not getting band 1 and also annoy Richmond supporters who apparently want him.

In 1 trade period we piss off supporters of Richmond twice, Carlton, Brisbane and put GWS supporters in their place.

I call it Ed's evil plan.

I would normally vomit at the chance of us paying Kreuz big bucks to come over, but at the end of the day the only thing better than watching the scum fail is watching the Brions screw themselves out of the draft pick they desperately needed.

Even watching them gobble up our 'best' players, coaches and training gurus only ends in self-satisfying glee for us. It's mildly enjoyable seeing the physically hobbled players on big bucks get sidelined, training gurus have their theories tossed aside and coaches find their game plans discredited, and know that they are at Carlton, no longer with us. If Kreuzer was to come to us, Witts would be traded.

that's the unfortunate part loosing witts to get kreuzer

It would be more losing Witts to get Treloar. Have to give up something good to get him

yes that's true just don't want us to loose witts.but if we do don't mind the kreuz

I see us getting treloar for our 1st round pick and a player, maybe witts?

Getting Aish is where it gets interesting, if we acquire Kreuzer as a free agent and Carlton gets the compensation pick that severely screws with brisbane (no access to weitering or schace in a draft apparently not running deep).... i wonder if we are using the potential Kreuzer acquisition as a negotiating point with Brisbane for Aish, it certainly gives us a little power to influence their trading week. Although Kreuzer might just be acquired by another team and Brisbane would still be in the same predicament.

The above said, I see Aish going for a 2nd round pick this year AND 1st round pick next year....it's a shame Keefe and Thomas aren't on our list to use as trade bait for Aish.

Some bumper trades on offer. I think Ed should expand his evil plan to piss off a few more club supporters as well.

I like the sentiment expressed in the OP but my main hope is that we just improve our list and not worry about opposition supporters. The best way to piss them off is to win the premiership.

Is Kreuzer a free agent? If so, I could definitely see us trading our first pick and Witts (from NSW I think, they need a ruck) for Treloar, then acquiring Kreuzer through FA. I don't really want Kreuzer but losing Witts could expose our ruck depth and he can play ruck/forward alongside Grundy. That hypothetical scenario would see:

In: Treloar, Kreuzer
Out: Pick 7, Witts

When we take into account pick 7 will most likely drop down the order due to FA compo that looks like a fantastic deal for us.

Ideally, I'd prefer having Treloar and Bennell (his problems aside, a classy outside mid with pace, skills and goal scoring ability is what we need), but if we are losing Witts as some have suggested we definitely need cover.

How the **** is Kreuzer worth band 1 compensation anyway? Weren't we told DT had to be paid $600k+ in order for us to get band 1 combo back in the day?

Carlton board seem to think band 1 starts as low as $500k??. It's really a AFL nod and wink system anyway.. these published formulas are just a very broad guide to be followed or not followed at the AFL's discretion.

Some bleeding heart lions supporter rang SEN this morning saying the AFL needed to "see sense" and I thought "Finally, someone is suggesting the AFL just award a market value compensation for free agents". Something in the order of a 2nd round pick for both would make a lot of sense.

Instead, he was calling on the AFL to manipulate the compensation picks, giving pick 2 to Brisbane for Leuenberger so they could take Schache for "sentimental reasons". Carlton would then get picks 1 and 3 and could then apparently take Curnow, again for "sentimental reasons".

I think if we do that then all of the delegates at the draft should also link arms and sing kumbayah before the commencement of the draft.

Seriously, is anyone else getting annoyed at Lions and blues fans feeling they somehow deserve these early compensation picks for their broken down ruckmen? Free agency was bought in to help the players not the clubs. There is something distasteful at watching clubs hoping their players take a big offer elsewhere.

I agree with your points but surely getting Treloar and Aish improve our list drastically (as well as pissing off oppo supporters). Not sure on Kreuz replacing Witts but it is pretty obvious Witts and Grundy can not really play in the same team. "Can Grundy and Kreuz play together" is the million dollar question

maybe we can add getting Dangerfield through FA for nothing as well and refer to the whole trade week event as 'LoadBlow2015"

Here's my Dream.

- Pick 7 and Witts for Treloar
- 2nd pick and 2016 First pick for Aish
- Kreuzer FA
- Dangerfield FA

Collingwood Premiers 2016

close but I think that's overs for Aish. I believe that it will be

Pick 7 and Witts for treloar
2nd rd pick and Seedsman for Aish.
Kreuzer FA
and I suspect that one other player will be traded to try and get another 2nd round pick. so I dare say that names such as
Toovey / Blair / Kennedy / Fasolo will be thrown up.

Common sense in my opinion is to actually remove compensation picks. it's all swings and round abouts. technically if you lose a FA let's say they go for $500K. then you should have $500K to throw at another player. over a 3-5 year period it will even itself out.

No Danger?

You suck.

I'd love Danger but I'm trying to be realistic. with that said I'd be very glad to say that I'm wrong :)

Given the salary cap is about to grow and Swan will be gone at the end of 2016, Young perhaps this year and guys like Pendles/Cloke et al will be at the back end of front loaded contracts, now is the time to stock up.

Nabbing the 4 I listed in one off season would all but guarantee us finals and have us more likely in the Top 4 frame.
