Been having this discussion with my brother at the dinner table for the past few nights, we can't come to an agreement so I thought I'd put it out there for bigfooty to chime in and see if we can reach a conclusion to this whole thing.

I don't believe Josh Kennedy is all that he's cracked up to be and most of the praise and accolades he gets are unwarranted and uncalled for. My brother argues that he is a top 5 key forward in the AFL, when he told me that I nearly choked on my porridge.

My reasons being I feel that he just gets lost in transition too much, even still after being in the system for years now. I also believe he doesn't have the tank or endurance if you will for the modern game. This was highlighted on the weekend when he came out all huff and puff and gobbled up 5 gimme goals in the first quarter before running out of steam and failing to kick another one for the match.

To me, he just lacks that little bit of class and polish the elite forwards such as your Franklin's and your Dixon's and those sort of guys have and he's been all too happy to beat up on the lowly clubs.

Think this week might show us if Kennedy is the real deal or not, he's got a lot to prove and will have to do it against quality opposition, something he hasn't been used to doing in recent times.

My key points to look out for in his game this week:

- Can he run out a full game?
- Can he adjust his game style to avoid getting lost in transition?
- Will he stand up against quality opposition?
Will he influence the game like Charlie Dixon threatens to do?

I dont believe you
no way you have a dinner table

I believe it's finally time to accept that Josh Kennedy is in the top 3 key forwards in the competition. I had my doubts, but his game yesterday proved that he can mix it with the best and kick a score against a genuine opponent.

What impressed me most about his game yesterday was he didn't get lost in transition, which is an aspect of his game I have been critical of in recent times. In the transitional play, Kennedy was able to zone off the corridor and make an impact on the rebound with some great gut running ability. It was clear to me that this week he worked on his endurance at training and as a result has become nearly the complete forward as I felt that was nearly the missing piece of the puzzle.

I'd still rate him behind Franklin and slightly behind Dixon who just hasn't had the opportunity to show his ability yet with poor receivingness and inside 50s from the Port midfield making it even harder for him being the only tall forward in the paddock of little people. That's no disrespect to Kennedy either as in time, Franklin and Dixon will probably go down as two of the all time greats of the modern era.

Josh Kennedy, I was wrong
