He hopes to play this week but is far from over the line.

I reckon there just trying to get him through until Gumby is ready in a few weeks.
Once Gumby is ready to play Lucas will be put to pasture for the rest of the season. That's how I'm reading it.
They wont be putting anyone out to pasture if we keep winning and we're 1 game out of the 8 going into round 21 or 22.
Would be plain stupid.
From a very good source, he might be playing next week or he might not.
From a very good sauce.... a pie is better with than without.

Possibly but if he's hobbling around like he has the past few weeks then I can't see him being of any value.
I think they might try and get him up for either West Coast or Adelaide but after that he'll be shot and Gumby will come in for structure.
I keep hearing Gumby this, Gumby that, who is Gumbleton? The bloke cant string more than a game of football together atm without getting injured and your putting blind faith in this bloke to come in and fill the shoes of Lucas with maybe a possible finals shot?
FAR fetched.
Lucas is in the exact same situation that Lloydy was in earlier this year. Lucas has lost confidence in himself, his ability, he's losing his feet at every contest and just doesn't have the feel for the game at this stage.
It'll come though, as we've learned already this season, write off a superstar at your own peril.
