Scum capital of Australia?
Lets look at why I ask this.
The so called professional footballers there. One thinks he can write his own prescriptions. Clearly this player is one stubbie short of a six pack. Did he think he would get away with it? Judging by the way he treats a taxi, you would think so. One player almost dies from overdosing on 'something' while on a holiday with his team mates.
One player runs from the police after being pulled over. Did he think he could get away. Well, he tried. He must have felt bad about this so he went to Melbourne, drank himself to oblivion and passed out so he wouldn't have to run from the police. Two (or more) are pretty chummy with underworld figures. One player gets in so much strife with his club, on his last chance he blows it by crashing his car while drunk. One player uses his wife for boxing practice. One player uses his partner for knife throwing practice. One player has a positive swab against his name.
Have I missed any? Probably!!!
Now, if these so called professional sportsmen are what young aspiring footballers look up to to set an example, what will be of Perth in years to come. These players are owned by the public. Loved by the W.A. public, and yet they continue to set the wrong example. I pity any aspiring AFL footballer that gets draft to play in W.A. After their compulsory 2 years, I would not blame them for wanting to leave quicker than they got there.
Why would they want to try and be a professional sportsman amongst a football club full of crime and with experienced players setting the wrong example. What will they learn from that.
Sure, these clubs finished 1st and 4th last year, but does that hide all the wrong things that happen in Perth.
Certainly not.
So therefore, I have no doubt that Perth is the new SCUM capital of Australia.
