I think Sheedy is Essendon he gets the headlines, draws a crowd and deflects criticism, when you are crap.
I would keep him for ever and as he gets senile ,dont tell him hes not coach, let him do all the press still ,but get the assistants to do all the coaching

I think you might already be doing it.

When he was having contract negotiations last year I was hoping he'd go to Richmond and give some service back to the Tigers. I didn't see the neccessity in him continuing, he's been a great showman but I think he's a little past his prime. But I can see him making the finals once more before he leaves.

Sheedy has shown time and time again that he can successfully rebuild a club. 1984-5, 1993, 2000, someone does not have his longevity without knowing how to rebuil a club and make it successful once again. he has at least one more premiership in him, and if Essendon gives him the boot it is our loss and another club's gain.

I think Sheedys time is up, has been great for Essendon and the game in general but really if he didn't fluke the 93 flag his recors is pretty average in my opinion with the list he has had over the period, to only win one flag with that group in the last 90's early 21st century isnt good enough and to my mind he looks like he is going through the motions, i just don;t get it, surley his time is up and if i was a dons fan i would look at m.Blight beacuse i think he would still have that hunger and feel like he has something to prove after what the saints did to him, anyway i lov what sheedy has done for the game and look as a Cats fan we have a great coach in Bomber Thompson who i am sure learnt alot in his time under sheeds, everything has to come to an end i just fel its now, what dso u guys think!

Agree wholeheartedly, the club is heading in the right direction long term even if it is downward short term.

Let's face it - Bombers will be bottom 4 this year.

Aren't you sick of Sheedy by now???

Is it time to put Mark Harvey in as coach??

Mark Harvey wouldn't be much cop as an senior coach of anyside IMO.
I reckon the Bombers would be better off going for O'Donnell instead.

Blight was a lazy barstard who wanted to play golf on the weekends and didn't put any time into the workings of his team. He had no hunger at all, and it was only after the Saints threw money at him that he took up the job. He lives in Queensland now I believe and is relaxing up there, but if he doesn't want to coach that's fine.
