Only saw the replay on TV but the hit on Wolfenden by Pat Travers seemed like a huge cheap shot. After the carry on at AFL level over Baker, surely king hitting some one from behind like that deserves afraction more than 6 weeks?

Claiming provocation over an earlier incident doesn't really cut it in my eyes but didn't see said "earlier incident".

Saw the incident - and I thought 20 weeks.

Absolute disgrace of an incident - and deserves the book thrown at him

If he only got 6 weeks - that's a disgrace by the WAFL.

If there was an earlier incident - whack him then

What exactly happened?

An east perth player basically jogged up to another player and king hit him from behind, round house style.

I only seen a clip on the news so didn't see what started it all.

Theres a thread here that may have some more info.

Six weeks is enough. Bring back the biff I say, the AFL are turning the main competition into a game of netball, hopefully the WAFL won't go the same way.

The biff is OK, but king hitting a player from behind a disgrace and totally not on. One of the lowest things you can do on a footy field.

Totally agree and that sort of thing should be discouraged. However, the agression we saw on the weekend finally breathed some life into the footy we're watching. Still can't believe Baker got nine weeks the "offences" he committed a few weeks ago, if Travers' were playing in the AFl, he would have got life without parole.

He didn't just jog up to the bloke, who by the way has been hitting blokes behind play all his career! He first "jogged" over to him after the swans player kicked Z.Clarke where Travers was then hit, dropping him, so Travers retaliated.

It was a wrong thing to do and i agree it was bad but before you start throwing around comments find out a bit first.

Still doesn't justify a) retaliating and b) breaking his cheekbone.

They showed it during the VFL telecast today into Victoria...

Can't believe it only resulted in a six week ban. It was a cheap shot that deserved 10-12 weeks at least.
