apparently punching and kicking cameron cloke behind play at the intra club match this morning. what the hell is going on in the mind of setanta?

very disappointing, if not disgusting

I really hope it is the end for Setanta. He is not worth the time and effort that the club have put into him. We are better off without that goose.

Promote a rookie and let's get on with it. :thumbsu:

Hope Cloke is ok.

You gotta love the mongrul factor in him and I know this happens from time to time....competitive nature for limited spots but am I right in saying he has blued (pardon the pun) with someone else in another one of these games???

I can't see him in our 22, all he offers is a big body but that useless if you don;t have any skills.

Cloke will have a monster season and shove it right up Mick Malthouse and the Colling wood crew.

P.S My mail is that Malthouse wanted to keep cloke....Who cares he is ours now!!

There is nothing lovable at all about Setanta God'Helpme. He is a flog and I am disappointed in him bringing our club into the spotlight with such a low act:thumbsd:. Gutless Gutless Gutless! Go back to Ireland and Hurling Setanta.

Fev stepped in and sent him off the ground and Judd sent him home to cool off. Good on ya Fev!:thumbsu:

Are intra club practice matches AFL sanctioned and/or can you be reported for offenses under AFL rules in them? Apparently there was a TV crew filming at the time that may have footage, expect it all over the news tonite if this is so.

Aggression and passion are hard animals to bottle, but that said, this is very disappointing. I will be interested to hear the clubs reaction to it. Sometimes if the players kiss and make up well there is the usual "boys will be boys" stuff and it goes away, but at a young rapidly developing club the standards need to be set high and early.

Wonder how long it took for daddy cloke to get there.........

Happens in a lot of intra club games. Not sure about the kicking part though. Youd think he would have been provoked by something Cloke said or did. :S

If true, his temper is getting worse. Seems to have a liking for taking on undersized ruckmen as he had a shot at Ackland last year didn't he?

I really like Setanta as a heart and soul sort of player. However if his teammates don't get along with him, then his motivational abilities mean diddly squat.

He'll probably be depth for the year and on his bike after that.

Shame, I really wanted to win one of these tall athletic player gambles and Setanta, Aisake and Angwin have all bombed out for us.

Punching a guy when he is on all fours.........low, but forgiveable.

Kicking him after you have just knocked him down with a cheap shot. ****ing disgraceful.

I would love to put it down to "competitiveness for spots" and that could lead to the hit, but not the kick. No-one should ever be kicked intentionally on the footy field (but maybe he can use the "Fletcher - awkward biomechanics" defence.....allowed Dustin to kick blokes for years :D).

I think he is out of contract at seasons end. If the AFl get the footage he will probably miss half tyhe season suspended anyway.

Looks like the end for Setanta.:(

AN INTRA-CLUB scratch match turned nasty at Visy Park on Friday morning, when Carlton ruckman Setanta O’hAilpin lashed out at fellow big man Cameron Cloke in an off-the-ball incident.

O’hAilpin appeared to strike Cloke with a fist to the head before kicking his Blues teammate while he was on the ground.

The pair had appeared to be wrestling off the ball in the third quarter when O’hAilpin, obviously frustrated, appeared to swing his fist connecting just above Cloke’s left eye.

If that didn’t shock the 100 or so onlookers enough, the big Irishman then lashed out with his boot as Cloke lay on the Visy Park turf.

A couple of nearby teammates, now aware of what was happening, ran to Cloke’s aid while O’hAilpin began jogging to the bench.

It wasn’t long before the comments started coming his way – both from a few members of the crowd and even a couple of teammates.

There had not appeared to be any bad blood between the pair earlier in the match.

Moments later Cloke was helped from the field with the assistance of a trainer. He sat out the final term clutching an eye pack above his left eye.

O’hAilpin was also absent for the last term, having been taken from the field by Blues officials.
