Is Travis Cloke worth it????

Look i'd love to have him, but. I pose this question. Are we better suited to go for smaller running type player in the draft. I think that the quality of young talls are great at the club, and they will all develop into great players, including C Cloke, Davidson, Morrison, Maxwell. But our younger smalls are not progressing well for us. Nixon, Mullins, Shack, should all be playing consistant football at the very least. They are not. I think its time we invested in some young smalls.

Open for opinion

By the sounds of things, T.Cloke is a fairly talented player in the TAC cup. Many people have big wraps on him, saying he would probly go quite high in the draft. Why not use a third round draft pick to secure him under the father son rule.
What we do need to do, is not trade away our number one draft pick unless it's worthy, this year we need to be more aggresive on the trade table and demand things that we need at all cost.

YES! That is exactly what we need to Do. If cClokeis good enough for the first round then why wouldn't we take him with a Third Round Pick.. Thats Ludicrous.

I think we need a Kane Tenace type with out Top Ten Pick This year!

I think the rules are that you have to give up a round 2 pick for a player that is worthy of top 10 for the father son rule.

Agree with the Kaine Tenace comment.

Hell yeah he's worth it, quality key talls are worth alot and he could of gone earlier than expected if he was not going under f/s due to clubs loving key talls.
We can easily draft a quick midfielder with our 1st and 2nd round picks. No team in the drafts go all tall or all small when drafting 4-5 players.

are you sure about that rule?
I mean opinions could differ on weather or not he is worthy of a top ten pick. Didn't we pick up H. and B shaw with a third and fourth round draft pick last year???

No. That is ludicrous. How could you say a player is "worthy of top 10".
AFL: Uhhh... Mr. Judkins, is Travis Cloke worthy of a top 10 draft pick
Mr. Judkins: **** no he's ****.

I think the rule you are getting confused with is you have to give up a 2nd round and 3rd round to get 2 f/s rule draft picks. (for example to get B. Shaw and H.Shaw we had to give up 2nd round and 3rd round instead of just 3rd round for 1 player).

And btw I think Travis Cloke has been dubbed as worthy of a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick.

yeah, that rule sounds about right.

It's a 3rd round pick. We need some pace and skill. Who will be left by the trhird round taht fits that catagory? It's possible but the odds are low. Meanwhile a decent tall is worth more on the trade market than a good small. If he is better than his brothers as some say them he's a gun. 3rd round is a bargain.

His worth getting with a 3rd round pick. Below about pick 30 its a lottery, with a large percentage of players between 30-80 not playing more than 20 games. So the chance of us picking up a classy quick midfielder that will develop into a good player are very slim. SO go with T.Cloke.
Any1 put off by his average showing in the TAC cup?

No. BTW, I heard he had a slight inury before going into the TAC Cup. Does anyone know if that is true? If it is, and if he hasn't been too crash hot, it might explain why his form hasn't been too crash hot.

Yeah, I know that he has missed a hell of a lot of U18 games this year, and not sure if he played in the lead up pracy games either. But is definatly under a cloud

Watched teh Replay of the WA - Vic Metro Match today. Top game, a Thriller. Lance Franklin Kicked a goal on the run with 4 seconds left to give WA the win by 2 Points. Vic were devastated. As should be Expected.

Travis Cloke played Centre Half Fiorward - Full Forward all day. He played and alright game but i wasn't impressed. Skills didn't seem good, Didn't look like he had any athleticism, Slow. Isn't he supposed to be opposite of what i saw today?
