Walker was playing better football at the time of Parrot's post. So what's the problem?

Besides, Walker's younger and more of a development player than Cooney. He'll come good in time. Infact, out of all the players in that draft, Cooney's the only one to make a significant impact (maybe McLean as well). But does that mean that Walker, Silvia, Ray and Tenace won't be good players? Ofcourse not.

I understand this old post was bumped because our Weagles BF supporters have gone a little feral after last Friday’s controversial match and subsequent discussion. Nonetheless in regard to the question "Is Walker better than Cooney" – at this stage the answer is no. Cooney is currently playing better, more consistent footy – no question. The reverse was true when this thread was created. As to the question as to who will be the better – Walker. The Blues are wrapped to have 1AW on their list. A super-talent with huge upside.

Im sure the Blues are happy to have Walker on there list, but they would be far happier having Cooney. If the Dogs offered a straight swap Cooney for Walker we'd be the laughing stock of the AFL

Potentially more upside given his height, pace, endurance and versatility.And he's perfectly suited for the modern game of quick footy and can run with an Akermanis, Mcleod and Crawford.

Height: Walker 189cm V Coon 186cm. Tick, though that extra 3cm hasnt helped young Andrew get a kick now has it?

Pace: Cannot give you that one. There is pace as in 100m race and there is pace when you have the ball in your hands and Coon is explosive when he has the pill. Just bursts through traffic. Cross.

Still I dont see how Walker being taller or having a bigger leap will result in him becoming a better footballer than the Coon Dogg. Just aint gonna happen my friend.

Endurance: Can be worked on over a series of pre-seaons. Just wait till Cooney develops his fitness base up to AFL midfield standard, it's a scary thought really.

Correct. Cooney is a pure midfielder, with great goal kicking ability. Walker is a bit bigger, and faster, and can play midfield roles, is a better mark, and will be a KP option when he puts on more weight. Sensation endurance, and a blistering burst of speed as Lovett found out a few weeks back, in one of the most remarkable run-downs of the season. Pagan knows he has a super-talent, and is carefully training him in all aspects of the game.

Farren Ray played very well this year with a lack of game time because we have a good midfield, Walker may well be fit but all it means is he goes to the wrong spots faster.

Brad Murphy was picked 30 odd so i dont no why you put him in there.
