I'm officially a Bowden Fan again.

When he started his carreer I had big raps on him but he went throught the wayside.

Now he is Back IMO

how did my new "Bowden" go?

Brad Nottens?

29 hitouts i read............ did we kill them in the centre clearances?

:D

thankgod i was unable to watch it on tele here in the west.

Bowden killed them, getting 15 possessions in junk time.

Brad Ottens tapped brilliantly to Essendon's advantage.

These two were no way near our worst though.

Coach,

Hall was his usual unco self, giving away stupid free kicks as well as being outplayed and outsmarted by Matthew Lloyd.

Chaffey did nothing and was getting beaten on one on one's by the likes of Alvey.

Blumfield had another disinterested stroll around the park.

Krakouer did hardly anything offensive but tackled pretty well. He might make a good backman (if he builds up) because he doesn't get enough opportunities at goal for a forward.

Kellaway was quiet but he was coming back from injury so he is excused.

Tivendale did a great job fooling the club that he could play football last year. Has reverted to the fringe player he has been (minus one year) for his whole career this year.

Ottens dominated the ruck hitouts as he has been doing all year and once again we got *******ed in the clearances. So what could be the cause of it? Its either our onballers, Johnson, Brown, Campbell are duds, or he isn't tapping out properly. Draw your own conclusions.

I would say that Ottens could become one of the elite ruckmen in the comp with the right ruck coaching. It's no point having a ruckman win a tap if they have no idea where teammates are. Every ruck contest should be a set play...especially when you have a ruckman who gets his hand to the ball 20-30 times a game. Who is the ruck coach at the club...do we have one? And who's the mid-field coach?

If he is winning most of the ruck contests.. maybe we should take the Brisbane approach. Tap/Punch to ball as far as he can towards goal. Have 2 midfield on that side, one behind just in case.

otto gets his hand on the ball and doesn't know what to do with it.

Stafford knows exactly what to do with it but does not get it enough.

maybe they need to teach each other.

And by the way, how do you explain no support for otto yesterday (i mean no replacement for stafford) when all year it appears the coach panel thought he could not ruck all day.

Why the sudden change.
