At a certain stage in a game, we may only be 0-20 points up and the crowd starts to groan and complain like it is 2006 all over again.

It is extremely annoying.

Anyone going to fess up and admit it is them? :p

Guilty:thumbsu:
Just shits me when I know we can play good attacking footy, but we revert to chipping it around. Its obvious that we are more likely to lose by chipping it around, than by playing the way we have throughout the match to get in front.

Because they start ****ing around with the ball like they did in 2006 maybe?

Yeah - i'll groan if I see that crap.

from time to time i get a little bit pissed when we dick around with the ball or guys get hold of it and make silly mistakes but i never compare this team with the one of 2006.
i was giving it to kelly on sunday i felt he didnt give us much and after a few mistakes in a row i was calling for him to be benched. but i had to remind myself this is no danger game i sould just chillout and enjoy the game after that little talk with myself i realy enjoyed the game. best game ive seen all year i love the rough games.

Must admit it seemed like there was no atmosphere in large parts of the game against North. Crowd was deathly quite at times, apart from Mooney getting benched and then coming back on.

Why was the game not fully ticketed? Had to sit in the nose bleed section (not that bad at Telstra Dome)

Same.

I just looked down and sighed everytime Varcoe made a mistake.
I swore a few times at the umps, it's funny seeing someone my age swearing and getting mad so I try not to.
:p

Guilty.... And then I'll start thinking that we're going to lose.

I'm getting less and less worried each game that this happens in.
What excites me is that when the pressure is turned up on us (e.g. Sydney game, North game, Pies game, Crows game) our key players have stood up (e.g. Bartel, Gaz, Moons, SJ, Corey, Scarlo). In order to win finals, you need to be able to rely on your starts to perform when it counts. It's damn exciting to see that these guys are doing it regularly.

Couldn't have said it better myself Cat in Sydney. :thumbsu:

Will you be getting down to Melbourne for some finals matches??

I hope so! If we have one at the 'G, I'll be doing everything I can to get there!

On a funny note: many years ago (when I was about 14) I bought a Cats doona cover for my bed. When I got married, my wife wanted to chuck it out as she hates it (to be fair, it isn't the classiest thing in the world!). I pleaded with her not to, and said that I'll keep it stashed away until the Cats win the flag.
Knowing that they hadn't won since '63, and that in 1999 (when we were discussing this) they were pretty crap, she thought she was pretty safe, and said, "Not only can you put this doona cover on our bed, you can keep it there for the whole year next time they win the comp!"

Well, I got it out the other day and gave it a bit of a dust and an iron, folded it up nicely, and put it front and centre in the cupboard. To state the obvious, she's getting kind of nervous! :D

Hehe, that's gold. You stick to your guns and keep that doona!! (even if there are probably numerous yucky things living in it!)

How good will your life be after the Grand Final!!!
Making love to your beautiful wife while wrapped in a Geelong doona!!:thumbsu:

I love the Cats so much. My two daughters aged 8 and 6 love the Cats. I am a Social club member and my two daughters are members. As a young boy growing up in Geelong my dad used to take me to Kardinia park rain hail or shine and I would climb trees, crawl under the stands, slide down the dirt mounds at the back of the standing areas on cardboard boxes and get up to all kinds of trouble but #### I loved the cats and I still do. I would sneak into the rooms after the game and wait around till dark just to pat them on the back as they walked to their cars win loss or draw. They were always heroes to me. mmmmm Stalking i suppose but I really loved them and would have died for them if that is what it would have taken to see them win the Premiership. I can remember sitting in the back of dad's old Valiant driving home to Highton with tears in my eyes after a loss and refusing to eat when I got home. This year the pressure is building and building so I have decided that I cannot take it anymore so next week the family and I are off to Alaska. Yes Alaska the last frontier returning 3 October. The girls are not happy but it is best for us all and the club. A.F.L is not huge up near the Arctic circle but I will be praying for all Cats supporters and the Club that it goes well and I will have the most complete Holiday anyone could ever hope to have returning to watch the winning DVD. Good Luck Cats. Dusty.

Hehe. That put a smile on my face.

Guilty too! Groaned audibly - set up a mass groan. It is frightening to see this negative play - so risky. I love the doona story. I've got a lot of Cats stuff in cupboards and it is screaming to be let out. Could be a temporary divorce here as well.

I'm guilty of groaning on the weekend at some of the shanks served up by the likes of Kelly and Enright.

I was actuallyreally excited when we started chipping the ball around. WTF you say!?!?!?!?

Within a game we were not yet home in, Bomber starts the boys playing a finals brand of footy against a finals contender. No doubt that the chip chip style is going to factor in September action and to see it pulled out was reassuring that the hooped warriors are not going to run into anything unexpectedly come September.

Top marks Bomber. Showing signs that you are winning the battle inside the box as well as on the field. Top marks.

Agree too CIS, like you I only get to watch it on TV, however I just have this faith right now that whenever it seems as though the chips are down we kick a late couple of goals and end up in front.

Guys like Chappy, Bartel, Ablett, Moons, J Corey, Ling and moreso now in Selwood really step it up a gear and get something done.

It is great to see the rest follow, Mackie, Stokes, Enright. The list is endless. It is a flow on effect which you can see, sure they may chip it around a bit, however then a part of the ground opens up and away they go.

Great to see.

Hilarious.

Plus I'm coming down also, will be definitely going to the first final, I actually want a whole package (all finals excluding the GF), so I can come down whenever I want. Wouldn't miss it for the world.
