MJ will turn 27 later this year. Hasn't been his best season by any stretch but is one of the few players on our list who actually does something constructive with his possessions. Will get a two year deal.

Gold.

Brilliant joke. Can't even be bothered arguing about the many things that have nothing to do with possessions, or the number of possessions that he actually gets, that show why he's a waste of space. I'll summarise. He's lazy.

Unfortunately though, I think you're probably right about the last sentence.

MJ - specialist finger pointer - seek to trade, if noone bites a 1 year deal to have him as a backup player before and someone to delist for the 2012 superdraft.

Crowley - expert on bringing opponents down to his level and beating them with experience - hes old, slow, and has poor disposal. Doesn't play a role a younger player couldnt play - ie De Boer. Fringe player at best, not in our future, trade/delist.

That is the best and least emotive analysis on this thread. Why wouldn't you give MJ another year? Constantly selecting him as best 22 is a different question entirely.

Well im loving this.

Hmm Lets see we have a young list as it is. You Havent Seen Port Power played? Sure playing the Kids is fine in theory but you need to old guys to help the Kids.

As bad things are for Michael Johnson, I reckon he will get a 1 or 2 year contract and heres why...

Silvagni is a very good Defender and hes only 23...

Then theres McPharlin and Grover. Both Are good Players and Both are in the 30s and you wonder how many years they have left.

So if Johnson leaves this season then both McPharlin and Grover retires next season. it would leave Silvagni as our only experienced key defender. We would be stuffed.

Disagree. We shouldn't be keeping someone on the list simply because he's experienced. If he's crap, then get rid of him. My concern is that the match committee seem to think he isn't crap.

We nearly had a go at Will Thursfield last year, so the recruiters must have identified a weakness there. Why not have another go at him, or even Paul Bower (I'm not sure if he's coming back from injury or just out of favour at Carlton).

If we need to have experienced players, then why not try to improve the quality of the experienced player. There are a lot of better experienced players out there than Johnson. Get rid of him, and pick up a solid defender to help out while we develop what we have already got.

Funny you mentioned Paul Bower. when warnock eventually headed to Carlton there was going to be a warnock for bower straight trade.

If Bower does get delisted I would take a look at him. Happy getting nick suban in the warnock trade though.

Well its slowly starting to pan out... Schammer has retired and Pav will no doubt go on the vets list... If the rumours are correct we will find out next week that Palmer is off to GWS and we will probly get an end of 1st selection for him or possibly 2nd round pick. Thats 3 spots on the list.

Its pretty much a lottery as to who else will go and there are arguments for almost every single player that is out of contract.

Houghton a KPF and offers more upside than all of the other uncontracted players I'm a bit dissappointed that he hasnt been offered a contract already.

Grover had probly his best season this yr but whether or not he can be bothered going thru another yr is his only issue as he may not get an automatic game for the entire season next yr. He should be kept for one more yr.

Johnson has not been great this yr but does have ability and has shown some it in the past I think he is should be looked at for a trade but if no one bites then he should get a one year contract.

Bollenhagen has had a pretty awful yr but he is young and if he can get his body right I think he can play so he offers upside I'm not entirely sure if this is enough to be kept but id like to see him offered a 1 yr deal.

Hayden is way too injury prone but at his best he has played the best football out of all the uncontracted players however if Davis is keen to play for us then Hayden should make way.

Hinkley some say has done enough to be kept but IMO he has had plenty of chances and failed to secure a place in the side, even this yr, so really doesnt offer anything more than a depth player.

Crowley... should I say more... wouldnt get a game at another team and should go.

Out of these 7 players I only want to see 2 more dropped (Crowley and Hayden or Hinkley would be my choices) I doubt they will clear out more than this and Davis the only recycled player to be picked up (no Fev or Clark). The others (except Houghton) should be offered one yr contracts so if they dont perform they're gone next yr and 4 picks in this yrs draft.
