Toast It's Finals Time

Well boys and girls, it's that time of year again. The mighty EFC is back where it belongs, so I thought we should tidy the place up and get into that finals spirit.

We're playing the blue ***** in two weeks time, so I thought we should make our avatars our favourite moments from Carlton games to get into the mood.

I'm too young to remember '93 or even 2000 in too much detail, so I'm going to nominate

Round 13, 2008

Essendon had ground out a famous win earlier in the year, but that was written off as a fluke by the great unwashed. Surely with their loyal captain Juddy the mighty Blues would trounce the Bombers who had no discernible talent on their list.

Surely.

Then came the moment which epitomised the two clubs: the two captains clashed heads, and one of them got up and played out the game kicking 4 goals and leading his team to a famous victory, the other struggled to amass 12 possessions.

Other notable moments from this game:

- Henry Slattery, courage personified
- Kyle Reimers' last quarter heroics

Good idea, avatar changed. :thumbsu:

I may change to another moment when I get time.

PS We are not where we belong just yet, but heading in the right direction!

Still remember the 2000 prelim as an 8 year old, the absolute joy of seeing the scum on their knees after being absolutely pantsed. F**k Carlton.

'93 for mine, had a couple blue mates around, twas a beautiful beautiful day:D

I still have that picture (well one very much like it) from The Age sport section from 1993. :thumbsu: I was 8 in 1993 and remember the win quite well as well as Wanganeen taking out the Brownlow. The moment I remember best about 2000 was Long cleaning up Simmonds. My dad is a Melbourne supporter and he was not happy. I reflect less positively on the 1996 and 1999 Preliminary finals.

I've narrowed mine down to 3 personally

a) Being the Davey/Thornton double goal
b) Lloyd, having kicked no goals in the first 2 rounds of 2009 (may have been '10) turns it on and kicks 5 in a 3 point win.
or
c) Fletcher's tackle on Garlett this year.

I want to go for something a little less recent, but I think Fletcher's tackle may have it for me...simply amazing:thumbsu:
