The Ashes are heading back to England, this carp that Aust is dishing up at the minute will be lucky to get 10 wickets let alone 20....we are GONE GONE GONE!!!

It is a big worry if this is the best we have got. Cannot keep relying of Warnie for the entire series.

Tait has been very disappointing. Who cares how fast you bowl when it is sprayed all over the joint.

i cant see any result happening the pitch is too good. both teams will make 450 + first innings scores.

Australia will not make 450, they havent even got close all series, this current side the the worse in 20 years in their current form...

18 no balls in the first session, Australia is really struggling!

start looking to the futue , out kasper and dizzy , hayden, martyn in with geeez whatever reserve young bowling we have and some new bats

Look at what happens as soon as a team looks competitive against Australia, it ain't over, it's just begun. Sure, the signs aren't good so far, but anything can happen. I'm actually enjoying seeing how much the poms can dominate and see how good we really are. 5 wickets or a century against this England side is worth 2-3 times more than the same against the woeful opposition we have faced in the past few seasons. I'm interested in who is going to stand up for Australia.

Thats a big call to say they are the worst in 20 years, even with in their current form, can't say I agree.

Does anyone have any updates on the weather forecast?

Name one worse!

I dont agree with them being worst in last 20 years, Cant u just give England some credit and say they are quality opposition. Believe this test will be a draw aswell.

What colour are the carp and how are they being cooked, is Matty Hayden doing the cooking?!

Written after the day's play, still....

mate, it is TEST cricket....90 minutes of play does not consign the match to the rubbish bin....sure, the loss of McGrath hurts, but the boys fought back and did well to restrict the batsmen and take 3 wickets after the rain.....and when Butterfingers goes for it tomorrow and screws up, we are into the Pommy tail.....

Still, our bats have to fire.....something they have not done consistently- we need a pair of centurions in the first dig....and then really go after the Poms in their second dig....

As the great Yogi said...."It aint over til its over..."

So relax, and put your one day fears away

unless we bat like 4th graders this test will be a draw. THere is nothing in this pitch.

Harmison shoul dbe nullified because i can't even see him extracting bounce out of it. Because of his ability to swing the ball Flintoff will still pose a threat.

But the pitch will most likely win out in this test.

Cut it out, the game will be a draw, they have to bowl us out twice on this belta of a pitch.

8/450 now and i honestly don't think that is a huge score on this wicket. It's imposing no doubt as any score above 400 is. But if we bat with just a little more application than we have been in this series 450+ isn't out of reach.

After thinking about it a little more i do get the feeling this pitch may just fall apart after the third day, making batting very difficult and a result very possible. But that's just a hunch.

With Australia batting and we are 3-43, it's game over.

The ashes are gawn.
