far out the you’d think he would be head down bum up, grateful he has a spot on afl list despite not deserving one and even apologetic for being the worst recruit in our AFL history.

Not responding to shit like that and his partner taking more pot shots at Adelaide.

Embarrassing.

In terms of attitude, the single worst player we've ever had on our AFL list. Makes Ben Jacobs look like Michael Wilson. At least Ben had the decency to **** off.

Stick him in a forward pocket in the SANFL and let him rot, even if every other ruck on the list is injured.

Why can’t these hackers do something useful and take down Instagram so these brain dead morons don’t have a platform anymore. A lot of the stupidity in the world can’t be traced back to it.

It's sad to see how the last couple of years have played out with Soldo because I honestly thought that he looked pretty good as our number 1 ruck in the first 5 games of 2024 (where we started 4-1 as well)

I saw him as a significant improvement over Scott Lycett on first impression. He was tapping to advantage more frequently, could actually take marks across the ground and even looked an ok set shot (which doesn't say that much considering the rest of the team but still)

Then in round 6 we rested Dixon, gave Sweet a run and tried to shift Soldo into a KPF and it simply didn't work. He had no forward lead-up game to beat his defender or create scoring opportunities. Then he missed several weeks with injury in which during that time we gave Sweet and Dante plenty of opportunity. Soldo came back for the Carlton game and got badly beaten by a hot n cold Tom De-Koning before getting injured again after the bye and not playing another AFL level game for the rest of the year. By that time we settled on Sweet as our number 1 option.

With Soldo the talent has always been there but the attitude is just not. Seeking a trade out after 1 year just because he was no longer a walk-up selection and having a partner who doesn't like living in Adelaide (Which she attempted to deny) showed a completer lack of commitment to the club and and a lack of leadership, which needless to say, when you have a list of players with next to nobody else with premiership experience, is pretty ****ing important.

I'd like to think that Josh Carr and Stewy Dew could give him a rocket that the previous coaches couldn't, but even their efforts can't save his career if he can't put in the effort himself as well. Nothing from the pre-season so far gives me much confidence he can turn it around, and that's in a pre-season that the rest of the group has mostly been thriving in.

Whilst it may be true and unfortunate for Soldo, it's no doubt planned in some way or a blessing in disguise to how be able to select more in SSP or perhaps mid season draft if needed and a player who would actually bring something to the table. Couldn't see Ivan actually contributing meaningful or anything of substance to the team anyway. Good news in my eyes. Only downside is having to yet again pay for an injury prone player who clearly doesn't give a rats rear end about the club.

Not gonna lie and I said this before, it was always a strange decision to be chasing both Sweet and Soldo considering their age profiles at the time within the same trade period and what Port overpaid to acquire Soldo.

It’s not rocket science that the trade backfired spectacularly halfway through 2024 and the people who thought to acquire him need to be held accountable.

Respectfully disagree, we needed 2. Otherwise we’d have gone into the year with a 21 year old Visentini and unproven Sweet as our entire ruck depth after Lycett was delisted/retired.

Sorry to hear this news, hate to see players go down with long term injuries.

All the best for your recovery Ivan.

None of the 4 train-on blokes are over 6 foot tall either are they?
Actually think Port are running a bit tall after a few years of running short.

In saying that though, it’s almost impossible to replace a 200cm+ player via a train-on or mid-season draft. Ramm excepted - but he only played 1 game.
