EEEEEVVAAANNNN has been very, very good ever since he was brought in mid season....but today to totally eclipse an AA grader in Hille was fanbloodytastic!!!!! Well on his way to being in the elite ruckman class and easily the best talent we have had since Shaun Rehn!!!

It's great to see someone in the side with a bit of mongrel about them. The talent is just a massive bonus!

Considering I thought this would be our teething year 2008 has far exceeded my expectations and some of the younger guys have really shown some signs.

The next few years are going to be pretty exciting I think- even with the big loses we will have when some of the older guys hang them up.

not that I'd want to trade him, but wood was worh a first rounder. good young rucks are rare

wood is yet to look particularly interesting himself. there might be a player there, not sure.

His competitiveness is what seals the deal with Maric. Don't get me wrong, he has the talent to be a very good ruckman, has awesome hands in tigh, and has a decided ability to rotate up forward and become a dangerous target. But his competitiveness is what will see him remain our number 1 ruckman for a long time. He goes 100% at everything and is constantly flying the flag, bumping the opposition taggers, laying tackles, and all that stuff.


It's perhaps embarassing to admit, but I've been to a couple of local (Adelaide) pro wrestling shows and there is a character who goes by the moniker John E. Radic and is known as the Crazy Croatian Sensation, I always think of him every time I see Maric running around
