I've never heard Hyde described as courages before this week

Maybe if he got Phil Narkel style head gear and wore an early 80's style panasonic tracksuit for the warm ups he could become a cult figure down at Tigerland. He has been copping alot of flack lately on this site what else could he do to turn it around.

I remember quite specifically an incident where the words "Chris Hyde" and "Courageous" have been put together, and I think most others on this site recall it too, even if they don't think he's one of our better players.

I think the man can be forgiven for being a tad gun shy - if you think that he is.

more then half the team were below half par, give him a break. Next year everyone needs to lift because another year like we had wont do...

he cant be the only player having the finger pointed at

the confidence of alot of our players was shot.
we shall judge next year after we start of the season with a great win over the TIP called carlton

Not a fan of Hyde but I've never doubted his courage, he's 100% head down, eyes for the ball.

This Chris Hyde bashing is the most unwarranted bagging I have seen of a player in the yellow and black. Funny that the minute Krak is gone the tiger faithful need to find someone to sink the slipper into. The drunken Wookie is correct, Hyde is definitely one of the more courageous players on the list. The fact he has half of his brain cells remaining is testament to this.

Looking forward to him being an important part of the team this season. All the things you all seem to bag him about, Raines is far bigger culprit. I think Hyde's elusiveness is one of his strenghts and I admire his balls to back himself and more often then not finish off with a reasonably slick goal. He is ahead of plenty of blokes and will play plenty of games this season like it or not. fickle pr1cks.

Yea I dont know why everyone has decided to start hating hyde. Before the clash with mcguire he was one of our better players. That game against geelong in 06 when he kicked 4 was one of his best but i dont think its past him to play like that again.

Always liked Hyde. He's not a star but he has a dip...has the heart of Benny Gale.

Agree with the Hammer, I'm a fan and think he's a darkhorse for leadership duties in the future.

Fingers crossed that he has an injury free run and I'm sure we'll see the best of Mr Hyde!

Its obvious he didnt have the greatest year in 07 but in reality, which tiger did? Foley, thats probably it.

Definitely a spot for Hyde on our list. He is never going to get 30 plus touches week in week out, but he will get high teens and kick a few goals.

Of course he has the heart of Benny Gale
You obviously never saw Benny Gale play did you......
Hyde is a honest goer at very best ;)

Do people remember back in 05 when Hyde and Tuck suddenly emerged as gun players. Tuck went on with it, Hyde didn't mainly because he couldn't stay in the guts like Tuck could and he had those injuries. He has the ability, temperment and desire to remain part of our list moving towards finals football.

he WAS courageous.
Focus on the WAS part, finished, to slow to play the style he does, holds up the play taking on everybody from the other team at which point the fowards have made multiple leads and the opposition has gotten back.
Very frustrating

Hyde has the potential to be our permanent left forward flanker. It's only a matter of time until he get's his confidence and fitness to the level which will make him a dangerous forward to any opposition team

That's the biggest load of crap. I think you need to watch the actual game. We've had the most congested forward line to kick to for the last 5 years.

Where did we finish last year Hmmmmm. We have to turn-over our list...period. And if you are a fringe player on a poor list you have to go. Last chance Hyde and co.

I think Hyde was above average in the courage stakes before his shocking collisions with Maguire and whomever else. Since that point he's still as gutsy as most but less selfless than he used to be.
Could go either way this year. The lack of a full preseason may hurt his chances of making it a psoitive year though. If he can get a decent fitness base he has a good size frame, fits Wallace's style perfectly and can finish well on his left foot. Should at least make Meyer, Tambling, Cotchin, Morton earn their senior games.

hyde may not be a gun but he is a good solid player got quiet good skills knows where the goals are is in the best candy seller in the business cut him some slack

Hyde's improved heaps to get to where is he is from where he was at as a junior. There's room on every list for a couple of depth player battlers who are running utility types.

He's on notice, but I won't be surprised if he elevates himself above a couple of others who are higher rated. As he already has with Bowden and Krakouer getting the axe before him.

Absolutely spot on. Well said.

Hyde was very courages, but having those two sickening head clashes would make anyone hear footsteps

Hyde has nothing to prove to me.

He's put himself into far more dangerous situations than a *** like Joel Bowden..
Respect.
