Day 1 summary

Day 1 summary

could the husband be any more guilty? the evidence he beat her up. The evidence she was planning to leave him. The evidence they had a massive row the night she "disappeared" and evidence he associated with bikie gangs.

This one I don't feel is as slam dunk as a lot of cases. The husband has been assisting with police investigations where as others such as Chris Dawson (Lyn), John Bowie (Roxlyn) while there is circumstantial evidence they weren't at all helpful.

The most probable likelihood is that he probably did it. I think it would be very hard to prove in court. I think in WA by the time they send it to the coroner they don't have enough to charge someone with and don't think it will be solved.

they said that on hayley dodd but eventually got him.

the fact the two rings showed up "out of nowhere" to me doesn't pass the smell test.

Seven people who gave evidence were cleared, except Chad. Oh my mistake previously. Chad is married to Iveta. He worked at a Kwinana tip at the time. Yesterday Chad and his brother got evicted from court for threatening a witness as may have been said.

Today's article

Chad appears and denies claims. Say he was on amphetamines the night before she disappeared.

Step-son has open mind but doesn't really believe it was Chad.

the old "i was doing something bad but not that bad" gimmick

There were a couple of men at the house who were eliminated. As expected the Coroner is going to declare Iveta dead. The likelihood is that it was foul play but nothing mentioned about a potential killer.

Det Sgt McDonald told the court someone contacted police to say they'd spoken to a man who claimed he and another man were at Ms Mitchell's home on the night of May 2.

He said "no links whatsoever were found" between the two men and the Mitchell family and both were later eliminated as suspects.

Foul play 'likely'

The Deputy State Coroner Sarah Linton said she was satisfied, beyond reasonable doubt, that Iveta Mitchell was deceased.

"Foul play is certainly a likely option," she told the court, though she was yet to conclude that.

"When Mr Mitchell was asked in court whether he'd used amphetamines that night, he said he'd already revealed that to police.
He said the drugs made him "happier, less anxious"."

but then ;

"Mr Mitchell said he and Iveta went in their son's room after they heard him crying, and he angrily ordered Iveta to "get the f*** out"."

sounds like BS,

"Mr Mitchell told the court that he went back home and fell asleep and when he woke at 5am, his wife wasn't in the house"

More guilty than before the inquest imo

"He said when he'd visited the Mitchell home on Sunday May 2, with the intention of asking to move in, he was puzzled to find the deadbolt in use on the front door.
When asked by counsel assisting the inquest, and the coroner, about the timing, he could only say it was in the afternoon or evening."

what was going on here,
was this unusual behaviour ??

so this is his version of events

1) takes meth and gets into an argument with his wife
2) she leaves and he falls asleep
3) He then takes the day off work to look for her
4) doesn't report it to police.

lol.

i'm guessing a couple of possibilities

1) he had the day wrong and this was the day after the wife "went missing" and he was cleaning up the scene.
2) the wife had deadbolted the door from the husband a couple of days before
3) she was never seen post the 2nd and she was already dead and he was cleaning up.

going by articles all mention this road.
Barney park was mentioned in one article.
maps shown here , does anyone know or feel like sleuthing the actual house ?
