Must admit I feel sorry for the guy. Being dropped after last week is a bit harsh i reckon. Poor form by the selection panel IMO

Harvey states that Kep wouldnt have mad a difference last week due to the number of inside 50's, then he goes and drops a forward? doesnt really make sense......

thought he wouldve been worth a shot at Etihad - a ground he's familiar with, home environment, perfect conditions, good size ground for a lead up forward etc etc.

thought he at least deserved a chance. the 2 games he's played in have been well beyond his control of impact.

I started off feeling that way but it's a matter of horses for courses. Griffin is unavailable, so Bradley comes in. Clarke is up against McEvoy and Kosi, very big bodies, he needs support.

With the rest of the IN's it's obvious we have instilled some run, which means a tall had to come out. Unfortunately the wrong tall, however MJ can also help in the ruck, JA cannot.

I too want JA to stay in but some perspective is needed.

Cant believe they dropped him again.

Had a great start to the game.
There was a quick kick out of centre an he was in right position an took the grab.

None of our other forwards are ever in right position for quick kicks out of centre.

Plus im sure he would know etihad better than any other of our forwards.

This.

Feel bad for JA but we've got him for three years so maybe next year he'll make his claim.

Here's also a bit of perspective. He didn't fire a shot all preseason. Best return was one goal from memory and was clearly out performed by keplar. Went to Wafl where he has been outperformed by the other key forward at subi. Played some good games at wafl and has had 2 games this year. Both crap for forwards, but in both he performed crap. I don't remember the Ryan Murphy love threads last year. Truth is, if his form warranted it he'd be in the side.

I'm hoping for some sort of transformation next year by reinventing himself in a new role.

I feel sorry for him too, but he shouldn't have been picked last week to start with. We should have had Keps in and that would give us some continuity this week. Jack's time to get a run was after 1st derby - he should have stayed in the team for a few games straight, especially with those MCG games (I know injury was an issue too at some point, but not initially).

This will certainly test his resolve - I hope he can hang in there.

All said and done though, and being clinical about it, Keps is a better fit for what we need this week, but unlucky for Jack that's for sure.

Just listening to SEN and they said that Jack won't be playing at Freo next year. They really didn't elaborate at all on their statement. So probably just their opinions.

Also mentioned an article on Tarrant and Peake in the HeraldSun either tomorrow or Saturday. I am sure it won't be positive towards Freo....

Players often struggle either first year back from major injury, or on relocating.

I'm backing JA in for a break-out year next year (if he isn't too depressed!)

I am happy to see Bradley back, but I just want to see better structured forward play generally.

The Anthony thing though is a worry. There just seems no consistency selection wise, nor appears to be any particular plan to include him short, medium or long-term.

But he would have worked his arse off up the ground. When was the last time Kep had 5 disposals?

PS But I still would JA like to go fine. I'd love him kicking a bag on Tarrant in a grand final win. Perhaps next year...

Absolutely no faith in the selection panel and there idiotic choices throughout the whole year. Finally give a guy a go then shoot him down again after just one game. Same as after the 1st derby. Seems some players get half a chance and others get a free ticket into the team no matter how they play. Would hate to be a Freo player who is not on the "Harvey likes me list"

I must say I am quite surprised at most people's reactions.

Kepler has been our best forward by a mile this year when he has played. He also offers back up ruck support to Clarke, who otherwise has to ruck solo.

So you bring in Kepler, and who do you drop? Anthony. Pretty simple stuff and the correct decision. I'm not even going to go into the MJ scenario, he "plays" a different role and will never be dropped.

The bigger mistake was giving Anthony a game last week, not dropping him this week.

Agree with this but Kepler should have been in all along. Why he got dropped I have no idea. If you are going to give JA a chance give him a proper chance and teach a lesson to guys like Duffield Roberton MJ who have all been given ample opportunity and not produced the goods this year.
Pav at Centre Half forward
JA at Full Forward
Kepler on the forward flank and Roberton out.
Pretty basic Really

Another 'bloke plays some piss ordinary footy at another club which is proof that Freo are shit' article?

Peakes article:

And here was Peake, sitting next to him in the car as they made their way back to Melbourne, wondering why he was just a footballer.
"'Do you want home truths?' That's what I asked him," Cole said.

He wanted to give back (to Collingwood). He had always felt he hadn't given everything he had. This is a chance to redeem himself.

lol what a load of sh1t. he just wants a free ride to a premiership without going through all the work the team did to become the AFL power house, sticking it to us in the process. that's not the worst thing for a player to do, but it sh1ts me that they think he's worthy of writing an article about, and sugar coat what he did as some kind of heartwarming story :thumbsd:

He wanted a free ride to a premiership when he came west as well.
