Well done to this guy on getting to the 100 game milestone. Hopefully many more in the red, white and black.

I can clearly remember thinking in his fourth game against Geelong in 2010 that he was going to be something special. Bobbed up and kicked 3 really classy, important goals.

Hopefully the boys can crack in for his 100th this week.

He battled through the ROSS Lyon era something no other rookie has ever done.

My favourite jack steven moment was his 1st? Or 2nd game against the cats on a wet night at the G and I thought he kicked 3 goals and got us over the line

Edit: same memory as the OP, that game was awesome to be at

He's going really well. I'd also like to see him develop a small forward capability it time, like Dane Swan (Yep, the comparisons are many) that he can use when resting if if he loses a step or two over time.

For now I just love him arching the back and running through gaps that have yet to appear to the layman.

Love Jack.

One of my favourites and having him locked for 5 years is great for the club.

He creates, he cracks in, he gets on the outside and he takes risks.

Very hard to tag and looks funny when he runs. Whats not to like?

The king of the give and go along the boundary, does it more often than any other I can think of.

Great to have him fit again and back into some good form.

The committment he showed to the club, won't be forgotten by me, or the the rest of the Saints faithful.

He's a beauty Jack. I remember back at the start of 09 they asked who Montagna liked of all the kids on MMM. He said that there was a kid on our list who would be the next Robert Harvey. The commentators were having a laugh at him at the time for calling it and heaping pressure on him but Jack while not Harves has ended up being something special. My son loves Jack, he always spends time to talk with him and is a gun with all the kids. My son has been a fan since that game where he kicked a few goals versus the cats. He has worn Jacks number on his guernsey ever since and plays in number three in basketball, footy and soccer.

I remember him kicking the winner in a NAB Cup game in Canberra in 2008 as a 17 year old. It was against Geelong at the height of their powers.

Later that year he almost debuted in a final against Geelong.

Hopefully another B&F somewhere along the way, and some big finals to boot. Well done Shuffles.

It was pretty funny last year at preseason training with Jack Steven rocking up in his 1990s commodore wagon with surf stickers and parking along side Rooeys top of the line MB SUV and all the other expensive cars. He's very down to earth and still dresses at op shops. He has a genuine lack of pretension.

Haha, best is when you see Jason Holmes rock up in his eary 90's magna, his head hitting the cieling.

I remember watching him early as a small forward type and thought he'd be a solid to good forward, never expected him to turn into an elite midfielder. Well done to him.

Except he was never a rookie pick.

Not sure I understand the reference to rookies though as Lyon was a big user of rookies. Geary was from that era and is still playing. Zac became our full back. Attard was looking good till he got injured. Eddy was a favourite as he could ahere closely to the discipline and workrate that Lyon demanded.

Steven had quite a few injuries early on, and IMO that is the only reason Lyon did not play him more.

I meant young kids/1st year players not actual rookie listed players.

Anyways all the best from one beda boy to anouther

Now have BOYS Jack, LOTS of BOYS!!!!!!!!!
:D:oops::D:oops::p

I remember Steven wheeling onto the left and hitting a target in the corridor down in Tassie and I thought to myself who's this bloke he's going to be a star! We haven't seen the left since then but I was right about the rest. :thumbsu:

Was at the game in 2010 against the Cats when Jack kicked 3 crucial goals to give us the win in the grand final rematch.

Knew we had a star on our hands from that night on.

Congrats Jack on 100 games & kudos for signing a 5 year extension with our great club.

A ball hunter with less than sublime skills, you know he's going to find the pill and whenever he's got his straight kicking boots on the Saints are going to be hard to stop. Congrats Jack. Can't wait to see the next 100.

Love how when he gets the pill and instead of running away from the first tackler he goes straight for him and wheels around.

Love watching him take the game on and break the lines. Started him in my both DT and Fantasy teams and is scoring awesomely.

Didn't he kick a massive goal in his debut game against Hawthorn when we rested like half the team?
