yeah i remember the article. there's some statistic that 75% of nfl players divorce within 2 years of their career finishing. its not about love, its about benefit. the difference is women can if they are still relatively young, find someone to take them. also represents the different phase of life the women move into: have fun with the hot famous sexy afl player with status then settle for the provider so she gets the lifestyle she wants. nice soft landing.

Agreed, the fit cashed up ex-AFL player isn't exactly struggling to find some interest. Sure some women might realise that their partner just wasn't very interesting outside of football or might have just been looking for attention and excitement, but we all have to choose a partner with some discretion.

Professional athletes have a huge leg up and the pick of the field, if you haven't grown or matured at all in 10 years, that's on you.

Regardless, most retire before or around 30. Plenty of time to start again.
