hickmotts major thing was his strong over head and attack on the ball
the Z man attacks the ball like no other, great over head and his disposal is very good...
would be great for the blues to pick someone like him our squad, his doesnt mind getting down and dirty

Michael Hurley just rang and says to say hello![]()
Disagree.
We need an inside midfielder like Selwood as much as we need Hurley for our forwardline.
Our midfield is overrated because we have number one picks, Judd and Stevens who is an outside player. The Cats, Hawks, Roos and Lions (the first time we played them) smashed us in the middle for contested possessions this year. We need an inside mid like Hartlett as much as we need a key forward if we want to compete with Hawthorn and Geelong in the next five years.
More than we need a key defender IMO.
Unfortunately we will only have two second round picks in this draft because we need to find a HFF as well.![]()
i dont mind hurley either but isnt their a question mark over his pace to play as a CHB?
ill take your word for it, if he can play CHF then im 100% for itCan you identify the point where I stopped taking you seriously?Murphy, Gibbs, Judd, Walker, Browne, Armfield, Aaron Joseph, Lachie Hill, Ellard ... we've got plenty of players on our list with the abilities to play inside.
I remember only last year everyone, including myself, were crying about our crap defence. What we didnt believe that our future defenders were already on our list. Bower, Jamison, Austin have all come up and shown they will be awesome for us in the backline. You need to have faith in the inside players on our list currently. A player like aaron joseph, who has had rave reviews may be the answer, browne is easily hard enough to play in that role, armfield is all class, murphy is a rover... we need to be patient and that classy inside mid will come up once these kids put on some muscle, and get big enough to play that role.
what we dont have are young tall KPF. not one, so therefore we need to draft one very urgently!
i agree with the general idea that pick 6 should be best available, but id definetly like to use our 2nd and 3rd rounders on big/ fast/ leading forwards.
