He's the best kick at our club up there with Newman. Hits his targets 60m away. Once he gets the occasional brain fade out his game(eg. running back into trouble looking for handpass), he'll be pefect as a tagger. He has the size, aggression, skill and athletism to be an important part of the 22. His last 2 games are just a glimpse of what he will become. With more experience he'll be a very attacking tagger. Sorry Cogga and Wally but he's part of the future

yea really like the way jacko goes about his footy beautiful kick, strong body, tough and has a big motor. could become an integral part of the 22 in years to come he reminds of a michael braun type not the best midfielder in your side but always gives 100% and works hard for the team.

Jacko's big problem is that he's sadly lacking in a 'footy brain'...no awareness, poor at reading the play, slow to assess his options, and all too often chooses the wrong one.

He's a great athlete, and when he does do the right thing, he tends to do it well...It's just a question of how often that is.

In many ways, he's quite similar to JON.

have been a fan from day one. those who arent on the train have written him off too early. he has shown glimpses of being an integral part of our midfield for a long time. and yes i said the same thing about kel moore last year (well not about the midfield but you know what i mean) so put that in your pipes and smoke it.

That's about right I'd say but there is is no way right now he has a "cemented future."

this will improve greatly with experience

jacko is easily better

No way is he one of the better kicks in our team. Will be with us in 2009 and will have to play well enough to stay in the 22 for the majority of the year to stay on in 2010.

He definitely IS one of the better kicks in the team. I like him. Along with McGuane and Connors he adds a bit of much needed mongrel. Decision making will improve in time. Like a lot of Tiges he just needs to take the first option.

Hahaha, I think you need to spend less time dropping tabs and tripping out to bollocks like Lark's Tongue In Aspic , Relayer and Nursery Crimes and more time actually watching football..time to wake up from your hazy Tangerine Dream and face the harsh Yellow & Black reality... Hackson is a dud and should be delisted...another thick piece of deadwood who's had his chance and needs to go....:thumbsd:

Wow Mario Nursery Crimes, Eleanor Rigby , who woulda thunk it , Jacko is better than that lame ass cover, at least he " may have" talent:thumbsu:

Cogga Speedwagon I think you need to open your eyes. I just watched the game again and Jackson was very good. Wins hard ball after hard ball, puts great physical pressure on the opposition and really, I only saw him make one mistake, when he held onto the ball too long in a tackle. Even then, it was because he had no option, and if he was Luke Hodge he would have got away with it.
We'll delist four or five at the end of the year and there's plenty in front of Jacko.

Cogga Speedwagon .

:D... Gold, like it a lot! :thumbsu:

Sick of posters coming on here after Jackson plays one "ok" or "above average" game and then talking him up. Seriously, the guy is a DUD! The guy has lived off 5 ok games... and his in year 5!

I wouldn't say 'cemented' his future. I would leave that for Cotchin, Deledio, etc.

The guy is an honest plodder, might survive the cut, might not. Guys like Cotchin and Deledio are going to be the match winners, the guys who opposition teams struggle to negate. Guys like Jackson are a dime a dozen. There's nothing wrong with that either, because talent tends to follow a bell curve anyway.

Jacko will be around for the next couple of years at least. His big advantage is that he is a stronger body than many in our team. It's fine to have players like Edwards, Connors, Cotchin and White in the side but at this stage they are underdone physically.

Just like Tuck, who many of you used to knock, he will definitely improve with experience and confidence.

AS arguably his harshest critic pre-2008, it cannot be left unsaid that players like Kel Moore are the exception opposed to the rule.
Kel was able to get his body and mind right and turn his career around - all well and good - plaudits to him.
But the moment we start using his situation as the base to judge all careers on, we are in serious trouble my friends.
Richmond has a none too glorious past over the past 20 years of persisting with players way, way too long, when other clubs are not frightened to show them the door.
Fremantle showed Clayton Collard the door after one season, yet we here at Tigerland - well many of you - are calling for him to be upgraded to the senior list, based on what? A few glimpses shown at Coburg, where he hardly commands a regular game.
I am not sold on Jackson and think he has been given adequate time to make the transition to regular senior player. The fact he has been unable to do it when, other than this year, we have been relatively poor, speaks volumes.
There are players of a similar ilk ahead of him....White, Connors, Polo for starters.
Moving on!

he would not make many other teams in the AFL and is exactly the sort of trundler that we have put up with for too long.
Thanks for the memories JAckson

"Trundler"
Love it! :D
A new one for the files of classic footy vernacular... :thumbsu:

I had my doubts about him early last year until I saw him tear Collingwood a new one and practically win us the match in a qtr of football. I like the way he goes about his footy he was one of our best on the ground on Sunday and he always seems to piss the opposition off, they just want to smack the Ranga around for some reason

Anyway for my own ammusement I will keep a list of people who think he is crap and bring it out next year when you are all singing his praises. I would bet money everyone of these had Kel Moore written off last year too.

The usual suspects are

Mario Speedwagon
King Mallee
Goldust
Wally Matera
Phoenix rise
