Level 2 Rough Conduct charge
241.88 points

All equates to two matches

Disappointing to lose him again

You're right Sante, I was going off the SEN guys.

Daniel Jackson, Richmond, has been charged with a level two engaging in rough conduct offence against Hayden Ballantyne, Fremantle, during the first quarter of the round 15 match between Richmond and Fremantle, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday July 10, 2010.

In summary, his previous poor record means that his two-game penalty must remain at two matches, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and body contact (one point). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of three matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 30 per cent to 292.50 points. He also has 30 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 322.50 points and a three-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 241.88 points and a two-match sanction.

Huge loss, for such a smart guy he does some dumb things. Ballentyne is a little shit we all know that but Jackson needs to be smarter. If he's going to go after ballentyne drive his head into the ground in a tackle, better still belt him but make sure there are no witnesses, if that's possible. Needed him for the Pies game.

Who thinks we will contest?

Geez if there is no footage i'd consider going to the tribunal and having a crack at getting him off or reduced to 1 week!

In all seriousness without taking this incident into account the MRP needs a real overhaul.
I'd start by putting NO EX CARLTON players on it! those pricks are so biased its not funny!

how many weeks is the purple tiprat getting for niggling and scragging other players the entire match?

none?

that's what i thought, it's ****ed!

What exactly is "rough conduct to the body"? Is it a strike? Is it a charge? Is it a guess by the umpire?

A chance to have him againsed North, Pies and the Crows, or miss North and the Pies and definitely have him againsed the Crows the following week at the G?

I hope they contest and try for North and the Pies. Who knows what will happen if we win one (or fluke 2) of those. Contest, but FFS do a better job than last time

Contest it. They probably don't even have footage.

So a guy can kick another guy in the chest and get a yellow card but Jacko gets 2 weeks for "rough conduct to the body"... makes me sad.

In good news Travis Cloke is also in line to miss 2 games, if he does it might help our chances of knocking off the Pies in 2 weeks time.

absolute bullshit!
loving his status though! so true

Dan Jackson Is sick of playing a pussy sport and so is retiring in favour of playing a real mans game.. Perhaps I'll be better suited to the NRL?

No video of this = No charge to answer.

AFL you joke how can we charge someone without something that shows he did it.

How do you come to that conclusion? The umpire that reported him obviously saw the incident. That's how the tribunal operated for years before trial by video came in and it's still applicable under the current laws of the game for incidents where there is no or little footage.

Lets face it

18 out of 19 reports that have been done on the day have got off.

That alone shows that just because the umpire has seen anything does not mean anything

Also dont you have to have video of it to be able to judge it. Also Reckless conduct were was the contact made does anyone know that? Answers no on all things.

I agree on the number of match day reports that are thrown out, but the difference with those is the MRP have access to footage which then allows them to make a decision. If they have no vision, they have no option but to take the reporting umpire's word for what he saw - this is where the contact and impact measures would be taken from. Jackson may well have been better if there was vision, but who knows. Players have been suspended on the word of an umpire for years.

Something happened to Ballantyne and he was clearly affected by the incident for the rest of the game. Players shouldn't feel they can get away with felling an opponent just because they might not get caught on footage.

no video footage so all based on what umpire saw . So does anyone know what the umpire has stated as happening in this so-called rough conduct. Did he also see Ballantyne do anything
All hearsay your honour with no credible evidence

Bad news. Would have been ideal for Brent Harvey and didak. Adds a bit of mongrel in the midfield.

Cousins back if fit should offset a bit though.

The umpire's report is considered credible evidence.

I haven't heard from anyone who claims to have seen the contact, and I'm not convinced the umpire saw it, either. Perhaps he saw the aftermath and figured he'd better make a report lest he be dragged over the coals like the umpires at the Baker-Johnson stoush?

"Rough conduct" sounds like a catch-all. If the umpire's report contained more detail, let's hear it.

Contest and just lie:thumbsu: Say something along the lines of only saw him last second, and braced to protect myself. What pisses me off is yes the umpire has laid the report and is the witness, but there is no footage. We have clear footage of Franklin belting a Geelong guy after he has disposed of the ball, and Blake kicking the legs from under a Brisbane player and both get **** all.

Just reported: Jacko has taken the early guilty plea. Has been ruled out for 2 matches.

Jacko will miss the games against the Kangas, and Collingwood.

In good news though, cloke has also taken the early guilty plea and has also been rulled out for 2 matches. One less forward we have to worry about, considering he always seems to kick straight against us for some reason.

There was video footage of it. They showed it on channel 10 or 9 last night. It was really grainy and zoomed into as it was shot from miles away.

Spewing he got suspended. Can't believe buddy got off!
