Clearly Hydey is in the side as a tagger, he trys his guts out I give him that but he has his limitations...he aint that quick and is pretty suspect under pressure. Naturally we need these types, Jacko is a tuff customer, loves the contest and is pretty quick (GF sprinter in fact)...Play jacko FFS, he has some upside:thumbsu:

It's a judgement call.

Hyde gives us more when we've got the ball and will mean that whoever he plays on needs to man him up going the other way.

Which is better probably depends on who he's on and the job required.

Hyde has the pace that jacko doesnt. I think its more of a who are we tagging thing as jacko will get the bigger bodied inside mids and hyde will get the speedy outside mids.

Jacko is ALOT faster then Hyde, Hyde is one of the slowest players in our team. But bassically I have noticed, playing as a tagger, Hyde simply holds his man better and he is also pretty much good for a goal a game these days

'Action Jackson' has shown some signs over the last 8 months of being capable of stepping up to a high standard of football.

Chris Hyde has shown signs of being a good-ordinary player with limitations and possibly some potential as a goalkicker while tagging.

Can't drop Hyde after the last 2 weeks even though Jackson could probably do the same job, with potential to do it better.

It's Hyde's last year if he gets dropped so I'm happy for him to get priority in the early stages of the season unless Jacko dominates at Coburg (which will be hard since they won't be playing for a week or two).

Don't really rate Hyde, and would much rather Jacko. But I don't mind him being there at the moment to make Jacko work that bit harder to crack it in the firsts. Hyde will be one of the first to be on the outer when more kids are pushing for spots.

good summary, exactly as I see it, unfort for Hydey he has crumbled under real pressure in contested situation, made poor decisions that have proved costly at pivotal moments...watch that series of tackles in last q v hawks that has been replayed , it all started with a poor choice by Hydey under pressure...some could argue lost us the game:confused:

Definitely, and after watching the replay yesterday it reminded me that Hyde will never, ever be a premiership player.

On that basis I hope Jacko earns his place for good within the next week or two - even though Hyde is dead wood there is still a standard you must rise above :thumbsu:

No shit, Hydes, acerage at best, slow, one sided, slow panicky decision maker.
Jackson has it all over him.
Faster, stronger better

Hyde has been great the last 2 weeks, shuting down the oppositions top players very nicely!
