Meh whatever, your opinion isn't worth much.

I've heard from plenty of better sources than you that the giants were disappointed he left.
Not in retrospect and hypotheticals, but actually how it was.

While i have your attention snooks- what's your latest take it to the bank guarantee of the exact date kelly will re-sign?

No way Steele is top 25 at GWS

No way Steele is top 25 at GWS

Irrelevant.

The discussion was/is:

"players they definitely would rather have kept hold of...boyd, treloar, marchbank"

Certainly if your boy marchbank lives on that list, so to does steele.

Any giants fan will attest he would have been in their starting 22 replacing stevie j for the prelim last year if he hadn't broken his foot.

Steele isn't the greatest player who ever lived, but he certainly doesn't belong in the 'whoops' jaksch, orourke etc recruit pile.

Don't listen to me though, here's gws:

“We were really keen to keep Jack,” GWS football manager Wayne Campbell said.

“We presented to Jack, his management and his parents, Leon (Cameron), Craig (Cameron) and I which was a show of our desire to keep him. There was a longer tenure on offer, greater monetary value and more of a guarantee of playing senior footy (at St Kilda). We couldn’t match the three things they were talking about.”

Steele got dropped by St Kilda during the season.

Absolutely no reason for GWS to keep him

Congratulations on not even being in the same postcode as the point

I get it, you are trying to include Steele as part of the good players GWS lost.

The point is you shouldn't

I thought the same until i saw hopper carrying: swisse supplements, a big mac, gatorade bottles, coca-cola yoyo, slab of carlton draught, woolworths rewards points form, newest tissot, a mars bar, virgin australia free flights, free stamps, thrifty car rental vouchers, wolf blass and jim bean bottle, new spectacles from opsm, coates hire coupon, accor hotels voucher, muscle milk box, 600ml pump with lemon, Dewalt set from bunnings, rebel sports vouchers, a brand new sherrin, goodlife lifetime membership, zxu compression shorts, a couple boxes of radiant laundry powder, jlt/gio/mlc life insurance/hostplus membership packs, free one month subscription to foxtel go, telstra bigpond modem, a drinkwise sticker, david beckham cologne from chemist warehouse, and a nab credit card with no annual fee. He loaded it up into his brand new toyota hiLux.

The perks of doing right by the AFL. They look after you.

It was a finger as I recall but otherwise you're right. The club said as much on our website. Would still rate Marchbank higher frankly, he was definitely best 22. Lot of our supporters pissed at Steele leaving though, in way we're generally not at guys leaving for opportunity. We saw him as necessary depth, and with our injuries this year would have played at least as many games fir us as he did for the saints. One of Cogs or Griffen missing would have done it.

Hit a nerve, did I?

There is no doubt that people at GWS were disappointed he left. I was disappointed he left. But my comment wasn't about whether or not we were disappointed. It was the fact that he would not have best 22 in our side this year. He would have played a lot of games because of our injuries, but he wouldn't have been in a fully-fit Round 1 team. Losing good depth players is always disappointing.

September 18th, I believe.

Well done on your accurate 'prediction' snook.

Very smart strategy waiting until AFTER something happens before you 'predict' it's going to happen.

Unlike your first attempt :$

Can you give me today's tattslotto numbers tomorrow too please?
Cheers

So the date was wrong, but the prediction was right...

Despite all of the murmurs from all media outlets and ITK's on the clubs forums here, let's just bask in the glory that I was right.
